I agree, Don King shouldn't be allowed to do what he wants. In the U.S., under the Muhammad Ali Act, the promoter is responsible for presenting all offers to his fighter.

Noel Mikaelian was not allowed to fulfill his voluntary; instead, the corruption between Don King, Sampson, and the WBC has forced Noel to miss his voluntary and be forced to do a mandatory.

You all are very weird to see past the injustices these fighters face because of the greed and corruption between promoters and sanctioning bodies.

Just remembering another situation where DKP is in court with multiple parties, including Sela, over alleged interference of their promotional interest in a fighter. The fighter withdrew from the bout. DKP is not a pushover, apparently. Let's see what happens.

With fewer equity method investments, TKO's "profits interest" in Zuffa Boxing may be easier to ascertain. They seem to be more concerned with the fees they charge to the JV, though. We'll see.

I don’t think this is anything significant. Redbird, Equity 32, and TKO were looking for an exit. Everpass isn’t a strong business, and there are only so many potential buyers—DAZN being one of them. They’re paying with essentially worthless DAZN equity. The lack of disclosed financial terms is the tell: if the number were impressive, they’d be broadcasting it to anyone who’d listen.

TKO does not "own" Zuffa Boxing. They do not have a capital interest in the JV (yet). They have a profits interest/in-substance equity.
If you provide services and get an equity interest during formation, that is taxable. Becoming a profit member (initially) is a way around that.
