London Climate Action Week: Is this where global ambition meets real-world climate action?
As London Climate Action Week 2026 (LCAW) picks momentum, it is a powerful reminder that climate action does not only happen at COP but is shaped in the events in between. #LCAW
Met with the UK Special Representative for Climate @rkyte365 and the consulate team to advance UK–California–Africa collaboration on #CleanGrowth, #CarbonMarkets & transport decarbonization. Africa’s development priorities must remain central to global climate partnerships. #ClimateDiplomacy #africanking @samassefa
Today, together with the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, we convened the Kenya–California Climate Partnership Advancement Meeting, focused on moving from intent to implementation.
In a global environment where climate commitments are increasingly uncertain, partnerships like this are essential to ensure Africa is not sidelined. From clean transport and renewable energy to climate-smart agriculture and innovation, we are aligning priorities, strengthening coordination, and unlocking real opportunities for investment, technology transfer, and green growth.
Kenya is not waiting, we are shaping the transition.

Not all carbon credits are created equal
Carbon credits only work if integrity includes both forests and people. Read why social integrity & Indigenous rights matter in climate solutions.

@MartinSwithins@KenyanSays My take: Hazards during heavy rain, thick fog and low visibility improves your vehicle visibility to oncoming and following traffic. For motorists whose vehicles are not turn signal automated while hazard on, too bad.
Is coexistence the solution to human-wildlife conflict?
Communities across Africa live alongside wildlife every day. The debate now focuses on coexistence and how people manage livelihoods and conservation in the same spaces. What is your view?

@pkmwiandi @MikeSonko @KWSKenya He was actually recognized and awarded the HSC, i think in 2018. I once covered his story that time...Watch it here https://t.co/wTvrhNjDF6
@MikeSonko He started this back in 2017 due to a prolonged dry season in Tsavo. Here is a story I did about him back then with K24 tv. His legacy lives on 🫡 https://t.co/wTvrhNjDF6
Yesterday, our team was busy trying to save a bull from a treacherous sinkhole. Here’s how they pulled it off.
We are no strangers to rescuing trapped elephants – last year alone, our teams saved 17 elephants from mud – but this operation brought some unique challenges.
In the morning, the Kenya Wildlife Service received reports of a trapped bull in Chakama. SWT pilot Roan Carr-Hartley flew down to the scene, where he met with the Kulalu Anti-Poaching Team and KWS.
It was a complicated situation: The bull was stuck shoulder-deep in a sinkhole. While it was too deep and steep to escape, he could move around inside, which made it challenging for teams to position the straps needed to free him. After discussing with Dr Limo of the SWT/KWS Tsavo Mobile Vet Unit, who was occupied with another operation, they opted to keep trying without anesthetising the bull.
Finally, the team managed to loop straps behind the bull and attached them to a vehicle. Inch by inch, they pulled him from his muddy trap. The elephant was guided to safety and KWS rangers continue to monitor his movements.
This was a very challenging operation, but the team didn’t give up. A life was saved, leaving all involved with a deep feeling of accomplishment.

@curiousrabbit66@SheldrickTrust In such situations, the elephant is exhausted from trying a chase, but in most cases, they are "gentle giants" that rarely attack unless threatened.
The new number plate series for Electric Mobility has just been launched. My worry is the quality of print and material used here. Who can relate? Compare KB* and a KDK >* prints are fading faster!
Anyway, this signals a high EV update in Kenya.👍
