Drawing on the D.Rad Project (2020–2024), we show how arts and sports create shared spaces where individuals connect across social, ethnic, and cultural boundaries.
We need to talk more about this. Because otherwise the term “early career” becomes another empty label — and yet another way to exclude those who most need support.
Early-career researchers shouldn’t need a book, a dozen articles, extensive project and teaching experience to get a postdoc. And they shouldn’t be competing with associate professors for “transitional” grants.
