‘Everyone hates Arsenal because they push boundaries’ just doesn’t rub.
The reason there’s so much hatred is the over focus on every facet of what people supposedly don’t like by a willing media, even if the focus is objectively petty and small minded (too much arm waving, use of the word ‘project’, standing on the edge of the technical box, over celebration, too good at set pieces)
Relentless. It trickles down. Even our own fans start getting down about it.
How can I be seeing ‘are Arsenal worthy champions’ from serious people in a record breaking year for wins? From a club with the 5th highest wage bill going up against nation states and unlimited private credit tethered to nothing. A team unbeaten in UCL and in a final. The best defensive record in the league. How are we here?
Because it’s Arsenal.
No one would dare say it about any other team.
It’s part of our history. That we might have done it the hard way shines a light on everyone else’s failings . Lap it up. We don’t care. 🔴⚪️
This is a brilliant investigative piece on Farage, the dark millions behind him and the double standards of so much British journalism. Read and retweet! Nigel Farage pocketing £5m from a donor shows he’s unfit for power https://t.co/zHuVfDV8dh
Another hit for Russian backed candidate Mr Farage. A real newspaper might have devoted a front page or two to his five million quid “gift for security” (sic) Amazing what can happen when the son of a KGB agent owns a paper and Thailand crypto billionaire gives money to burn
When looking into Sunderland v Nottingham Forest tonight, there was one angle that stood out to me.
It relates to Elliot Anderson, who has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season in my opinion.
What I love about Anderson is that he is a proper throwback of a midfielder who can do a bit of everything, including getting stuck into the opposition.
I’m backing the English international for a card against Sunderland tonight for a number of reasons.
Firstly, Anderson’s stats for fouls committed this season are super high. He ranks third for fouls committed (50) across the Premier League and has fouled eight times in his last five games (2-2-2-1-1).
Forest are scrapping for their lives at the moment, with this game at Sunderland giving them an opportunity to go eight points clear of the relegation zone.
The fact Anderson is a Geordie, and an ex-Newcastle player, will ensure he is even more fired up for this one.
He committed two fouls and was carded in the reverse meeting of these two teams at the City Ground back in September.
Sunderland’s midfield is arguably the strongest part of their team, with captain Granit Xhaka, Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra more than up for a physical battle.
Xhaka (1.25), Sadiki (1.09) and Diarra (1.69) have all averaged over one foul won per 90 in the Premier League and I expect an extremely competitive midfield battle with Forest’s Anderson and Ibrahim Sangare at the Stadium of Light.
Darren England is also one of the stricter referees in the Premier League, averaging 4.7 cards per match, which is the third highest total of all officials with 10+ games in the division this season.
@TPScheme@RichardAlvien That’s not an update. It’s a holding statement from 3+ months ago giving no concrete information on when clients will receive what was supposed to arrive a year ago. How many in the backlog? How are you working through them? Do you expect to complete the job before your takeover?
@TPScheme While you’re providing information, a timescale for the issuing of RSS notices or an idea of where people are in the queue would be useful. ‘In due course’ really isn’t good enough.
@TRiCKETTengland I always laugh at the ‘At last your order’s on its way…’ message, unfailingly hours after order gone in. 1st 2 words most redundant possible🤣 Any (rare) slight delays I’ve had have always been Royal Mail caused. Great, great service 🙏
@BBCNews Let's get it right, BBC. Those Councils will all disappear in a year's time or less, due to reorganisation. The votes are a waste of time & money, which councils can't afford after 14yrs of Tory funding cuts. The councils *asked for* a delay. All Govt did was agree to allow it.
