As a teenager reading about the decline of the Ottoman and Habsburg empires, I couldn't understand why they mostly just let it happen. Why not reform urgently, slash the bureaucracy, race to adopt the new technologies?
Much less confused these days.
A market without prices is not a market.
It’s a hostage negotiation with branding.
Healthcare did not fail because capitalism went too far.
It failed because competition was regulated out and billing departments were allowed to cosplay as markets.
This man’s name is Doug Sevey. He lives in Palo, Iowa. He builds data centers — including for UnityPoint Health, one of Iowa’s largest hospital systems.
He showed up at a public hearing and said this under his own name and expertise.
“I build data centers. I have 100% of their IT. And I’ve never used a gallon of water.”
“What Google isn’t telling you is they don’t want to use the technology. Because it costs more.”
“If my well goes dry, I’m coming after you.”
The water consumption devastating communities across the country is not a necessity.
It is a deliberate choice made to protect profit margins.
Louisiana passed a non-disclosure law in 2024 so you can’t even see the details of these deals.
Share this video. Tag you legislators. They need to hear from Doug Sevey too.

Watching @FreddyLA7 the German World Cup fan road trip through the South and discover actual America has been one of my favorite things online.
Waffle House hash browns. Buc-ee’s snack aisles. Auburn’s stadium. River tubing. Fairhope sunsets. Random small towns that look like movie sets if you actually slow down long enough to notice them.
People fly here thinking America is New York, LA, Vegas, and Disney.
Then they end up somewhere in Georgia, Tennessee, or Alabama and realize the whole country is way weirder, prettier, friendlier, and more interesting than they were told.
That is the America I love watching people find.
The most surreal thing of our trip so far. Currently driving towards Louisiana and the radio station we were listening to started talking about our trip and played Ella Langley especially for us😭😭😭
@Ryan12x6@jdfromthe504@FixNOLA@BayouMamaBears@dfossier New Roads, Oakdale, White Castle, New Orleans, Winnsboro, Port Allen, Derrider. And that’s just the mayors within the past year. This isn’t unique to just New Orleans.
@Bidenhasfailedu@ForwardCarolina Sure, but considering the original poster tried to make a point saying the waste and fraud in North Carolina was the result of Democrats…..this graph explaining that it clearly couldn’t be as they haven’t been in power for 10 plus years is relevant, unlike your “rebuttal”.
Yesterday I told you the government is pulling 900 ocean monitoring instruments out of the water.
Here is the part that should make every American angry, regardless of where you stand on climate.
Congress voted to fund this network. Not once. Twice. The Trump administration proposed cutting it by 80 percent in 2025. Congress restored the money. Proposed the same cut in 2026. Congress restored the money again.
So the administration labeled it a "descope" and ordered the instruments pulled anyway.
That is not a budget disagreement. That is an executive branch telling the legislative branch that its votes do not matter. The public paid for this infrastructure. Congress protected it. One office in Washington decided the public should not have it.
This is the pattern I document in 𝑾𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒂𝒅 𝑮𝒖𝒚𝒔. It is not about left or right. It is about who decides what Americans are allowed to know about their own planet.
Who should make that call?
