The LRRB gathered with Louisiana rice mills, researchers and other reps to focus on variety development priorities. Varieties are the cornerstone of rice production and the board’s investments, so the goal is to find a competitive edge to keep rice growers profitable long term.
“We have the world-renowned rice research station in Crowley, Louisiana, and that is a great calling card for rice information,” he said. "The Rice Research Station has provided leadership to the rice industry over the past 117 years here in Louisiana.”
