To all of the people calling to defund PBS and NPR, here are some facts:
- NPR receives approximately 0.6% of their funding from federal grants. The vast majority of their funding comes from corporate sponsors, and donations.
- Fox News has saved millions of dollars through dodging US taxes by opening shell companies in the Cayman Islands and elsewhere.
- Tesla, SpaceX and Solar City all receive substantially more in government funding than NPR.
@panagis21 I can’t remember which words are medical/scienc-y and which aren’t anymore! Like turns out most people don’t use the words #Proximal or #Cryptogenic in daily conversation
For anyone who finds this as treacherous, traitorous, and unforgivable as we do - just pretend it's green and white for #NewYorksStrongest. We take out the trash every day...and next year, that'll include the Eagles.
78 years ago today over 7,000 prisoners of the German Nazi camp #Auschwitz, including some 700 children, were liberated by the soldiers of the Soviet Army. 1,689 days of murder, pain, suffering, and humiliation were over. Today we all remember. We must remember. | #Auschwitz78
@Aidan_Baron unless one is on supp O2 would be unusual to require a blood gas to dx hypoxemia. The reason for the gas is usually for acid/base and ventilation.
@AndromedaShock But this presumes that weaning will be successful? The first time? I think the potential harm is the recurrent npo orders when weaning is difficult/prolonged.
In the 1950s, CEOs were paid 20x more than the average worker.
In the 1980s, CEOs were paid 59x more.
In 2009, CEOs were paid 180x more.
Today, CEOs are paid 399x more than the average worker.
We must put an end to this rampant greed and inequality.
