Renaissance scholar, manuscript lover, & lifelong student of classical Latin. Currently researching epitaphs on servants & tradesmen in early modern poetry.
Today is publication day for my monograph, /First Readers of Shakespeare's Sonnets/. It's rich in manuscript studies & I tried hard to make it conversational. The preface, intro, & c1 seem to be available on Google Books (US) if anyone is interested: https://t.co/4GMl3gLtL8
Here's the Antigone list of the *100* most useful (and most addictive) *free* resources online that give you unfettered access to exploring the ancient world. We recommend all these websites for making Classics-related content openly available to all!

Leaving Twitter with a bang! Very excited to announce that my article about a new manuscript copy of Shakespeare's Sonnet 116 I have identified has been published online open access: https://t.co/wEI9M8qZA4 @OUPAcademic

@aliciaandrz At my last school, I had to pay (albeit less than you) to park on campus. When my spouse joined the gym as just a local they offered him a parking voucher that let him park in any space on campus. Insult to injury: the "community" gym fee was lower than the faculty gym rate.
I'm so grateful to have known Dr Peter Beal as a grad student. He was generous & encouraging to me as a novice scholar, & much of my research relies on his groundbreaking, methodical research & detailed explanations & classifications. He will live on in our work for generations.
My very beloved husband, Dr Peter Beal, died peacefully in May after several years of Alzheimer’s disease. He was a Fellow of the @BritishAcademy_, gave the 1995/6 Lyell Lectures @bodleianlibs and for 25 years was the English Manuscripts Expert @Sothebys.
@aliciaandrz I know you love your breasts in part because they nurtured your daughter. Can you love the increasing curves on the rest of your body because they are nurturing your return to sobriety and wholeness? Your body is creating a new Alicia. It's ok if it changes in the process.

@torcheculs There's some great work on the dialogue in R&J as sonnets. Can't remember the article but will look and see if I can find it.
Also, West Side Story.

@_claire_turner_ Mine's Routledge, & I'm happy to share. But as someone who didn't know a lot about the process then, I wish I'd realized how expensive Routledge books are (& how inaccessible that would make it), & that because it's not a UP, I'd pay some crazy permission fees & never break even.
@aliciaandrz We can always make our writing better--but done is better than "still in revision", & if I'm getting your stage of the process correct, I think you'll have another chance for tweaks later anyway. Send it out into the world! It will be the better for its exposure.
@MiyamotoBen I'm so, so grateful to @FolgerLibrary not just for acquiring (& allowing visits to see) such an interesting manuscript, but for bringing me & @MiyamotoBen together as friends & eventual collaborators. Here B. celebrates (w/ cake) our @FolgerResearch fellowships (2019-20 cohort)!
