So this is where we are now. Times columnist Alice Thomson, who is not Jewish, appears to be saying that if you are Jewish, but are opposed to Zionism, then you have "betrayed your roots".
The Times has this morning published a rather limp attempt to smear the Green campaign in Holborn and St Pancras and specifically @pauleholden - author of The Fraud - and @andrewfeinstein - the former independent candidate there.
I'd like point out that Izzy Lenga - a Camden councillor who attended a 2 month military training course in Israel, whose close relationship with the Labour candidate Paul and Andrew are criticised for highlighting - featured in Al Jazeera's Labour Files. She'd allowed herself to be the vehicle for entirely unfounded smears in the BBC's "infamous" 2019 Panorama about antisemitism in the Labour Party.
The BBC later acknowledged the story was untrue and that Lenga was actually referring to the far right. Her comments "got mixed up in the edit", they said.
Lenga herself made no attempt to correct the record./1
I remember as a kid in school they showed us movies of Germans trying to kill Hitler.
No Israeli has tried to kill Netanyahu. In fact they’ve elected him six times. SIX TIMES.
@grok
Is it true that during WW2 when the UK was fighting the Nazis through Europe, Jewish/ pro-Israel state terrorist groups Lehi and Irgun were attacking British forces, including the 1944 assassination of the British minister of state in the Middle East, Lord Moyne, in Cairo?
I would *love* an investigation by the EHRC into The Greens.
Because this time, unlike under Starmer when Labour literally colluded with the EHRC to find Corbyn's office guilty of offences he didn't commit, the Greens will hire proper lawyers. And they'll run rings around the mediocrities and political hacks who currently pass as EHRC Commissioners.
The EHRC doesn't even have a working definition of antisemitism. It explicitly acknowledges that IHRA definition is not legally binding. If the EHRC tried to adopt a definition that centred Israel or Zionism, or tried now to use the IHRA definitions, it would be torn to shreds.
Mainstream journalists are utterly ignorant of how the EHRC works or its underlying statutory provisions. A key statutory provision is that the EHRC is bound by findings of tribunals and the courts.
The tribunal judgment in the Prof David Miller case is a game-changer, and binds the EHRC. The tribunal found that anti-Zionism is a protected belief. It found that anti-Zionism is a cogent, coherent philosophy that holds that Zionism is racist and inevitably leads to the dispossesion of Palestinians. It found that anti-Zionism is a belief deserving of respect in our society.
So riddle me this: how is the EHRC going to investigate the Green Party for adopting a protected belief as Party policy? Not least because the motion explicitly has no implications for disciplinary proceedings - which was the heart of its investigation into the Labour Party.
Of course, the Commissioners at the EHRC, who are all political appointees made by the Minister for Equalities, might feel like investigating a party or movement they dislike (just look at this still serving EHRC Commissioner for Scotland: https://t.co/V1dzHg2dmM).
But if they do, it will open the door to reviewing and exposing the multiple absurd legal contortions and basic errors of fact in its report into the Labour Party.
And it will allow us to expose, once more, how prominent Labour figures like Angela Rayner repeatedly violated the EHRC's findings on political interference - a form of indirect discrimination.
So they might decide to put their fingers on the scale like they did many years ago. But it's not going to be like 2020. This time, they'll face people who actually care about the law, and know how to practice it.
It says a lot about the media when you notice how extreme Jonathan Freedland’s views are and yet he is treated as the moderate, “sensible” voice of the British Jewish community, constantly appearing on the most high-profile shows in the country.
You know what's INSANE?
For decades, we were told it was antisemitic to conflate Zionism with Judaism.
Now the British establishment is telling us that separating the two is antisemitic.
@BenKentish The Green Party has not called for Israel to be abolished
Another LBC presenter who is telling lies about the Green Party
The station is a cesspit
So many fake takes on the Greens' latest policy.
Then known as the Ecology Party, the Greens began demanding an end to apartheid South Africa from the early 1970s.
They were right then, and they are right now to be demanding an end to an apartheid, genocidal Israel.
This article is plain wrong. Just literally repeats made up statistics. I'll be writing to the readers editor shortly, @guardian.
This article says: "A study from the Institute for Jewish Policy Research (JPR) titled “October 8 Jews: The Impact of October 7 on British Jewish Identity”, by Dr David Graham, found the percentage of British Jews who identified as Zionist rose seven points to 66%, between 2022 and 2025."
This graph below are the actual figures. What it *actually* shows is the number of British Jews identifying as Zionist increased 1% between 2022 and 2025 to reach 64%; not 6% to reach 66%. But the number of anti-Zionists increased by 4%.
The data is literally the opposite of what the Guardian says. It shows significantly MORE Jewish people in the UK have become anti-Zionist than became Zionist between 2022 and 2025.
If you read the report the picture is complex and nuanced. It found that there used to be a high level of ambivalence about Israel (non-Zionist and don't knows). Israel's response on Gaza has forced more British Jews off the fence, mostly towards becoming anti-Zionist.
This is what the report says about the data, which is the opposite of what the Guardian said:
"Indeed, it is noteworthy that the only category that shows a clear direction of travel over the
three years shown is ‘anti-Zionist’, rising from 8% in 2022 to 12% in 2025. Whilst it is important
to understand that both these proportions and changes over time are small, might we be
seeing the beginning of a trend in the British Jewish population? Strikingly, we can see in the
2025 data that young people are much more likely to identify as anti-Zionists than their elders
– indeed, almost a quarter of those aged in their 20s do so, more than three times as many as
those in their 50s and 60s (Figure 17)."
Really just shocking reporting. There was a serious collapse in journalistic standards in the Corbyn years, including at the Guardian. This has the same whiff.
@piersmorgan@ZackPolanski Zack: "Jews are not to be blamed for Zionism and its Crimes
Piers: "We have every right to blame Jews for Zionism and its crimes.
@SkyNews "Is it representative of your impartiality to consistently call Israel an apartheid state?"
"Its representative of the facts"
".. so you're.. saying Israel is a racist state?"
"Yes"
The head of Amnesty is clear. Israel is an apartheid state
