The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility.
Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it.

Tomorrow is the 89th anniversary of the Nazi book burning that destroyed thousands of volumes of research into human sexuality and gender-affirming care. Hitler would conduct similar raids through the Reich Office for Combatting Homosexuality and Abortion. https://t.co/tCPxT5gRml
If you’re vaccinated and healthy omicron is less severe than an infection with the previous variants which is great news! But vulnerable and unvaxxed people are still at risk of death and disability and our health care system is dealing with years of cuts. Communicate the nuance!
one more time because this isn’t mismanagement by health administrators or that health workers aren’t giving all they have — Canada ranks near the bottom of OECD countries when it comes to hospital beds per capita. we need structural reform/investment to keep Medicare alive.
The unvaccinated aren’t helping anything right now but if you want someone to blame for restrictions just look at the people that voted for cuts to hospitals and schools for the past 30 years. We could’ve handled this if institutional capacity wasn’t cut for “efficiencies”.
@EdTubb@shawnmicallef For the older age cohorts vaccines came to their LTC facility and to be unvaccinated they had to literally say no. I’ve not seen such easy access offered to the young. Where are the pop-ups where they live and work? Shouldn’t they be given the same chance to say no before blamed?

Ontario twitter, use active language:
"The province has no paid sick leave"
can be rephrased as:
"@fordnation eliminated paid sick leave in 2018"
or
"Doug Ford refuses to follow the advice of public health experts and reintroduce paid sick leave (which he eliminated in 2018)
Negligent governments, not personal behaviour, cause pandemics: "keep apart, wear a mask, stay at home. It’s good advice, but it’s disappointing that it’s all government has to offer at this point." https://t.co/CBWBxkgyIr
I argue here that Conservation Authorities are Ontario's best idea. They embody democracy by protecting our right to the land that defines us. Europe has cathedrals. We have our watersheds. This government wants to sell and privatize these sacred spaces. https://t.co/3KTWZh86S2
