@EdforBoston It might be doable to make more of the bus lane be rush-hour only. But these routes' ridership and traffic delays aren't limited to rush hour. It's very expensive for bus drivers to be stuck in traffic, let alone bus riders, so it seems important to have an all-day bus lane.

@inLIUofJOAN What a weird map. Rt 16 over Mystic is a shared path not a bike lane. Rt 16 near Northern Stand is completed, not future. The western bank of the Malden River is much more of a path than the eastern.

Cut the amount of parking in half, have the developer pay for a feasibility study to extend the Green Line (maybe set aside room for a station at Park St), build some housing, and then we'll have a good proposal.

I'm curious if the absurd number of parking spaces comes from the developer vs zoning. Somerville's zoning requires a parking space per 1k sq ft of R&D in a FAB district, which would come out to 1,356 parking spaces just for the commercial portion, pretty close to what's proposed

I cannot emphasize enough how much opportunity cost there is when a developer builds underground parking instead of useful transit. The cost of just 5 underground spaces could buy a mile of bus lane red carpet, or 2-ish miles of protected bike lane, or a bluebikes dock.
