@JDS1236250411 Take into account:
1) Younger modox jews - think 22-28. Most I'd say are making below 150k especially if you include women.
2) Older modox jews
2) Outside of wealthy, in-town areas. Like you go even to Fairlawn or Elizabeth or whatever, and the incomes there are just less
@dov_rabinowitz Food science was a marvel in the 20th century, revolutionizing (in good and bad ways) food products for the public. But recently the industry is just braindead zombies trying to figure out how to stuff protein into cereal and bastardizing fruit into unrecognizable forms
@overton_news These financially illiterate retards think this helps - lower rates can help, but without increasing housing supply dramatically youd just end up with higher prices making up for any gains in lower rates = people will bid higher on the limited supply bc they can with lower rates
@dov_rabinowitz I just don't get it, don't these people think "zionism" and "Judaism" are very easily separable and, if so, why would they, simply as Jews, feel the need to repent or apologize for it? Either way just insane that they feel the need to center their Day of Atonement around the war
@jewishstudent1 Is there a pshat why chareidi kids + people seem to be much more likely to have no respect for animals when compared to their MO counterparts? Obviously not empirical, just my impression, but I feel like I more often see charedi kids doing this type of stuff
@jewishstudent1 I don’t even understand the point of all this essentially pretending to be or represent chareidim. None of them will actually join the movement without approval from their gedolim, who won’t give it. So what’s the end game here? It’s good shtick?
@jewishstudent1@isaacson@arinohem Not saying this of myself or trying to toot YUs own horn with this, could be totally off. But simply what I was told and made sense to me, these guys only learned for like 3 years and only had 1 or 2 left before having to go work, so they just felt the need to grind to “catch up”
@jewishstudent1@isaacson@arinohem I always assumed us YU guys were inferior in learning, both on average but even amongst the “top” guys at YU who just lacked the reps. My impression however, and my yeshivish cousin was the one who told me this, was that the hasmadah of the top guys at YU was greater.
@jewishstudent1 I can’t speak to the exact data on Israeli kids vs Palestinian kids’ opinions, but watch Corey Gil-Schuster videos and you get the very clear idea that Palestinians, much more than Israelis, don’t care for peace at all and are willing to violently resist to the last drop of blood
@JDS1236250411@dov_rabinowitz It’s hilarious because I distinctly remember growing up when visiting Israeli family that they would always make fun of Americans for being obsessed with money and work, but then demanded American Jews throw their money at them in the same breath.
@jewishstudent1 Yup on point, someone commented on the Reddit page made to talk about frum influencers this exact point, that Jewish influencers can do whatever the hell they want and are inevitably protected by the “lashon hara” refrain, even if they’re actively wronging someone else. Like cmon
@jewishstudent1 ..It sets a precedent and a culture where these crimes are not really that bad/are just false accusations. We may not think this matters, but it’s well accepted that actions perceived as culturally unacceptable vs okay are heavily determinative of the rates of their commission
@jewishstudent1 Btw I don’t think you and I ever said that he’s for sure guilty and should be shamed - we’ve both obviously just been pointing out how problematic it is for people to assume with essentially zero affirmative evidence that a convict like this is innocent and therefore a hero….
