Ukraine Armed Forces are adapting their targeting cycle and High Payoff Target List execution from Russian logistics and command and control to Russian Air Defense in preparation and anticipation of F-16 deliveries. Setting conditions!
Russian sources report that overnight, Ukrainian forces targeted multiple Russian air defense installations in occupied Crimea with US-supplied MGM-140 ATACMS.
2 S-300/400 SAM systems and 4 radars were targeted in the Dzhankoy, Yevpatoriya, and Chornomorske areas.
Many U.S. and Chinese leaders have referred to the U.S.-China relationship as the most consequential bilateral relationship in the world. Is this actually the case? Experts debate in a new commentary: https://t.co/rooo5zvEEd
Our wonderful colleague @tara_varma testifying right now at Senate Subcommittee on Europe about the future of NATO at its 75th anniversary. Smart and sensible, as always.
As part of #SteadfastDefender24, this will be the 5th consecutive year that #USAREURAF will conduct exercise #DEFENDER 24, which is scheduled to begin March 28. The DEFENDER series continues to be the premier multinational exercise for the @USArmy in support of @US_EUCOM & @NATO
Great discussion on the strategic implications on possible PLAN 🇨🇳 quarantine operations against Taiwan 🇹🇼 if conditions and trends worsen. What could the U.S. do and why? @ChinaPowerCSIS

UAF are doing well at “inverting the High Payoff Target List” during the winter fighting season. Focusing on targeting Russian logistics, command and control, and airfields will help set conditions and leverage a few intangibles mentioned by @LuteDoug. More LRPF will help.
With enough long-range precision strike capabilities, Ukraine can isolate the Russian occupiers by attacking their weaknesses (indiscipline, poor morale, poor leadership, logistics dependent on railroads) rather than attacking into their strengths of fixed defenses in depth.
May it be said, “well done, be thou at peace” General Sullivan. A great leader and man who gave me more books and wise counsel that aided my development as a young officer. His leadership and impact continue to guide our Army today.
Congratulations to our brilliant @BrookingsFP colleague Fiona Hill, who has been appointed Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George (CMG) in recognition of her "exceptional and sustained career contributions" to international relations.

Industry’s role in Replicator is crucial. It will take companies of many kinds — traditional DIB, non-traditional, commercial, hardware and software, start-ups — to help achieve our goal. The industrial capacity exists in America. We have to tap into that and work together.
It might not be the same as the machine used in "Star Trek," but the @DeptofDefense's Replicator initiative could help the U.S. Army use cheap, attritable unmanned systems to out-think, out-sense, and out-maneuver adversaries, writes Ryan McCormack: https://t.co/7YhPObRd5X
The @USArmy should lead the effort in the @DeptofDefense Replicator initiative as it will complement the Army’s modernization efforts for large scale combat operations in 2030 and beyond. @DIU_x @armyfutures

20 DECEMBER 1944 – THE SIEGE OF BASTOGNE BEGINS (BATTLE OF THE BULGE)
One of the most famous engagements of the Battle of the Bulge began on 20 DEC 1944, as a U.S. Army force composed primarily of the 101st ABD began its heroic defense of the Belgian town of Bastogne.
Stalemate on the battlefield, vacillation by U.S. and European allies, and internal political tensions in Kyiv - this winter may be a turning point in the war between Ukraine and Russia, write @ConStelz, @MichaelEOHanlon, and @davidmwessel: https://t.co/X3I5JKFQpf
Combined Resolve 24-01 is a reoccurring @USArmyEURAF training exercise, designed to prepare U.S. brigade combat teams, NATO allies and partners in support of @NATO deterrence initiatives.

“Tehran has thrown down the gauntlet.” Nothing better than assessment from @MaloneySuzanne on the thought process and actions of Iran in the Middle East. @BrookingsInst@BrookingsFP
Washington should ensure that the U.S. provides both Israel and Ukraine with what both governments need to prevail against the existential threats they are facing, argues @MaloneySuzanne.
