We will never stop talking about the crime happening to dogs in Los Angeles.

This is how cruel and ignorant humans can be.

These tiny puppies were taken from their mother, stuffed into a plastic bag, and brought to us in extreme heat. The heat was so unbearable that even the boy carrying them had taken off his shirt and placed it over his shoulder — yet the puppies were trapped inside a closed plastic bag, where the heat would have been even worse.

It is nothing short of a miracle that they survived.

This is why education matters so much. Every day, we try to teach people that animals are not objects, not burdens, and not lives to be thrown away or carried like rubbish.

But while we keep educating, the cruelty outside does not stop.

More babies keep coming. More suffering keeps arriving. More cruelty cases keep filling our shelter.

For so many of these voiceless souls, our shelter is the only place standing between life and death.

We are now getting reports that this woman has a history of beating dogs in the Weingart. We are being told this by people that actually work there.

This dog was sold on craigslist and now this poor angel is being dragged by the collar down the streets of Skid Row. This person also lives at the Weingart, which is notorious for not being on the side of the animals at all. This dog doesn’t have a chance.

As council members and state officials drive to get their latte today at a Starbucks, please know that you’re driving over immense poverty and despair. There is absolutely zero reason why dogs and people are living in fucking pipes.

He had 4 siblings. All were poisoned and died before they reached 2 months old. Now he and his parents are living in pipes in Los Angeles drinking sewer water.

Time is up for California

We gave California 48 hours to review and flag more than 20,000 noncitizen voters recently mailed live ballots.

California refused.

This morning we filed a federal court action seeking an emergency order requiring California to sequester ballots returned by suspected noncitizens.

This is not political or controversial. 18 U.S.C. § 611 makes it a federal offense for noncitizens to vote in a federal election. We will not allow California to dilute the votes of American citizens.

Meet Sunny ☀️

A few weeks ago, this beautiful mother arrived with her puppies after a 10 km journey. She was tied inside a plastic sack, while her babies were carried in bags. Sunny was little more than skin and bones, and her puppies were suffering from severe ringworm and painful skin problems.

We asked you to help us choose a name for her, and we owe you an apology for taking so long to share their update.

Look at them now. ❤️

Sunny is gaining weight, her babies are getting healthier, and this little family is finally happy, safe and healing together.

These are the happy endings we live for—but behind every happy ending are weeks of nutritious food, medicines, veterinary treatment and daily care.

There’s no reason in Los Angeles, where everybody is filled with compassion and everybody wants to help and we are supposedly an extremely rich city, that nearly every park or quarry in Los Angeles has homeless dogs. That’s why we are demanding every council member to do a walk-through with us in their district in problem areas for dogs. They could either choose to come with us and make a difference or we will continue to call them out publicly on social media for their inactions.
