Day 11/20 ✍🏽 — Portfolio Piece
Today, I created a sample email newsletter for a skincare brand.
From the subject line to the CTA, I wanted every word to have a purpose.
I'm building my portfolio by creating, experimenting, and showing what I can do.
One more piece down. 📝
Lovely to get the print edition of @Equatormag delivered this morning. Was pleasantly surprised at how large the magazine is. Feels like holding a newspaper. My story is on page 82! 🕺🏿
I still do not understand how we cannot see the problem with using AI to "detect" AI. Are we saying that some groups of people are allowed to use AI but others aren't? More importantly, if you need AI to tell you that text is machine generated, isn't that already a problem? Conversely, if you are able to trick AI into saying the text is human generated, doesn't this raise more serious, more interesting issues than the low level arguments about AI floating around? What does it say of you if you need AI to tell you that the work of a human is the work of a human?
I think that writers are at the very wrong end of this discussion. We are not engaging seriously and critically enough with this and it will only hurt writers in the end.
