#ASOLAD Ch 1: How the Turns have Tabled is a slightly comedic, chaotic, reverse dungeon Heist.
An ancient evil has been awoken, and PCs have to return a stolen artifact to the Tomb to seal it away again.
@pangalactic I blame video game culture for this. A huge chunk of players have thus "winwinwin" mentality, and forget that you can't "win" at D&D; it's a collaborative storytelling game, not Skyrim.
@CatieOsaurus If you like heist campaigns, you're gonna want to watch for mine when it's published! Fractured Songs starts as a slightly ridiculous reverse-heist caper that quickly devolves into some LEGIT deep storytelling.
One thing that #DnD needs more of? FEAT TREES! 🌳
I love when taking one feat allows you to unlock additional feats down the line. Similarly to video game skill trees! Recent Unearthed Arcana seems to focus a fair bit on this idea, and I hope it becomes more prominent in 5.5e!
#DMTIP 143/1001: Move off the Party Perspective.
Show the BBEG finding the cursed crown he needs to cover the world in darkness. Or cut to the Bullywug family while their village is raided.
When done sparsely, this can have a strong narrative effect.
#dnd#ttrpg#dnd5e
I have a classic Medieval Tournament coming up in my #dnd#homebrew game, complete with Jousting, Sword & Shield, Group Melee, Archery, Wrestling, and an Obstacle Course.
The party gets to compete in each event, and receives various rewards.
Drove past a house a few doors down from me that had a HUGE sign (like 6'x3') on a pair of cable spools that said DUNGEONS & DRAGONS.
I'm tempted to just go over and be like "hey, I write #dnd stuff, wanna be friends?"
