🗣️ We all know "class participation" usually means "speaking up." But speaking up isn't the same as engagement. Let's be inclusive of those who are more introspective, #introverts, those with social anxiety, and those uncomfortable speaking up. #LeadInclusion#EdLeaders

Addiction is a complex and chronic disease that affects the brain and behaviour, characterized by compulsive drug or alcohol seeking and use despite harmful consequences. When you grow up in this environment, surrounded by dependence, you learn to rely solely on yourself as a means for survival.
Embracing independence is empowering, but beware of crossing into hyper-independence territory. Watch for those students who always work alone. Hyper-independence refers to an extreme reliance on oneself to the point of avoiding or rejecting help, support, or collaboration from others. My therapist uses this word to describe my personality.
Survival thinking, which can be characterized by a constant state of stress, fear, or worry, can significantly impact a child's ability to learn and thrive. When children are preoccupied with basic survival needs or emotional stressors, their cognitive functions may be compromised, making it difficult to focus, retain information, and engage in learning activities. This can lead to challenges in academic performance, memory retention, problem-solving skills, and overall educational development.
To create a more conducive environment for learning and growth, prioritize self-care, seek support, practice mindfulness, establish routines, set boundaries, and engage in activities that bring joy and fulfillment. This has worked for me! 🤘🏼
If you know someone who is struggling, please seek help. Mental health matters. You matter.
