Thomas Tuchel was supposed to bring us some winning mentality and when push came to shove he did exactly what every other manager has done before.
Didn’t take off big players that were having a bad game and running on fumes and ended up with 8 defenders on the pitch and Dan Burn chasing down a keeper.
You can do that against a Mexico side that only had atmosphere going for them.
Against an Argentinian side with Messi, nah.
The difference between Argentina defending the lead and us is night and day.
If Sheffield United, Yeovil Town & Blackpool games are anything to go by. Today should be a really relaxed night. Seeing as we excel at two legged knockout football.
@SkySportsPL@jaybothroyd@jaybothroyd is spot on here…
If the VAR rules are wrong, change them!
It shouldn’t matter if the decision was given on field. He clearly can’t see live and has guessed. Send ref to the monitor. Give him a better angle and let him get it right.
Fine. We’ll give you the point back today. Europe still win 14½ - 13½. 🇪🇺🏆
But you owe us the point for 1991 in Kiawah. Which means that finished 14-14 and Europe actually retained. 🇪🇺🏆

And I will talk about the striker situation, that Chris Wood simply will not be able to press at the level required. I still think he will provide a handy impact substitute role, but I don't see him being a long term 9, unles he passes Ange's required tests
But I think Ange will really, really love Kalimuendo. This is the Furuhashi-esque 9 he had Celtic. Small, good in tight spaces, hard worker, complete, and knows how to make lethal runs.
At Tottenham, it was more of a physical 9 that pressed, and dropped deep then tried to get the wingers involved to score with space created (Brennan Johnson).
At Celtic, he would rely on intelligent runs, and give less responsibility for wingers to score.
But I honestly think he would prefer Awoniyi as physical 9 before Wood.
Excl: Unless Nuno resigns (which is unlikely without pay off) looks like he will be in charge for #cpfc game.
Still major discussions to come but despite Marinakis’s anger he wants some kind of unity and no further distractions for a squad which he feels is strongest for decades
So basically Nuno and Marinakis no longer speak everyday. Surely due to Edu coming in or that Nuno has earned trust and freedom. But their relationship is still professional.
Sounds like an absolute non-story to me! #nffc
@SkySportsPL@Carra23@GNev2 Awful decision, and these two stooges are just as clueless. His hand moves behind his back. He also makes the point that it’s deflected.
By all the wrong logic they’ve just applied, this yesterday was given as a penalty. Yet it was reviewed and not given.
Make it make sense.
@forestmad80 Everyone in the comments forgetting that winning this also qualifies you for Europa League. So it’s essentially equivalent to finishing 6th, but with the added benefit of winning a trophy!
