No, it was clear with Kava and Isak that they were top-notch.
Isak is not performing, maybe cos hes coming back from a broken leg... or a mental issue surrounding the way he handled his exit from Newcastle...
We had the Defenders... we got Rice... the next step was the attack.
Thomas Tuchel, after Bayern's defeat us in the QF, said Arsenal's just attack from the right, and that was it... that was in 2024
how can manager just depend one player in attack? it was Saka or nothing.. That's fucking negligent.
and now that Saka been driven to the ground and hes not the same... we have NO attack.
@JGunn894@HandofArsenal Speaking of Martinelli ... why not stick him upfront? He has pace, movement and can finish
This is another guy that he misprofiled .. just like he misprofiled MLS by playing him LB
Well u can't have super midfield/defence depth and complain about the attack... the manager signed off on that strategy.
How come we seem to always get the defenders every summer?
Why did we spend 75m to replace a 65m guy that the manager personally wanted .. (who got substituted twice in one of the most critical games)?
Why is Nwaneri is not getting game time while Maduwke is ?
First of all, thank you for asking the question respectfully... and sorry in advance for the long reply.
Arsenal was outside UCL for 6 years and sponsorships/revenues were all in the gutter
Despite that, the club spent 400m to get back into the UCL... acquisitions were made via instalments to make sure the club complied with PSR
In the summer of 2023 we bought Declan Rice... along with Havertz and Timber.
That's a 200m outlay... with 2 players commanding over 250k/week...
so far +600m spent and UCL money did not kick in yet
It was such a squeeze that we had to buy Raya on loan with the option to buy because there was NO funds in that summer's budget...
The following year we paid for Raya and bought Marinno and Califiori AND THATS IT... because the club had huge amounts of pending instalments from the players they bought before UCL money
So you see, with financial restrictions Merino and Havrtz impacted our ability to go for top-tier attacking talent
and since both were bought as midfielders but now play as strikers... it was a mistake... That money shuld have went to an out-and-out striker
In essence, the 100m spent on both could have went to Isak in the summer when we bought Merino
Why did we need Bruno G since we have Super Merino, Rice, MLS, and Zubamendi... 4 players for 2 pivot slots.. plenty QUALITY and cover/rotation
If Kai is so amazing, why do we need Alvarez?... Especially since we also have Super Merino to slot in as a striker.
Hence, since you rate Merino and KAI... you should have no complaints about the midfield or attack.
And it's Arteta's fault if he isn't getting the best out such quality
Shall I draw you a diagram?
@ShuldBeVERIFIED@HandofArsenal The bribe people to play for them... Mbappe fucked them by leaving for free after paying 180m for him...
You call yourself an Arsenal while admiring cheats like PSG/City
@Hopefully312@HandofArsenal Yeah, because we bought nearly every defender and midfielder in Europe.
And the solution was a guy; he was playing LB for 2 years and nearly ruined his career
For 5 years he played Martinelli in the wings despite the guy being incapable of dribbling ...
and instead of playing to his strengths ie telling players to hit the ball early into space .. he kept passing the ball to his feet.
Any idiot with IQ above room temperature would shift Martinelli to a striker role where he can utilise his pace, excellent movement/instincts and solid first-time finishing ...
But no ... he put Kai, who has ZERO PACE, and fans are surprised when he scores.
Kava was available when Arteta bought all this garbage...
Couldn't he see that Martinelli CANT DRIBBLE and Trossard had no pace or physicality
He bought Kai and Merino as midfielders... now they play as strikers... because they are shit midfielders
both identical profiles... so whats the point having 2 lanky mids who cant carry/progress the ball
He bought Zubamendi as final piece... only to bench him for youth player that the genius was playing as LB and nearly ruined his career/confidence
Now we spent another 75m to fix the issues of the guy we got last summer for 65m
did not say that....
What I said those who scream for signings dont care about fit or profile... they're just looking for a dopamine hits
So since these #TransferTrophyMerchants got it wrong last season... maybe they should be embarrassed to be acting up.. since clearly they don't know what the hell they are talking about
