Dear @abikedabiri my sister. This is the first time I’m having to engage you on social media and for a very disturbing reason.
The post you just made of Dr. Bolu Ogunyemi is no doubt worthy of commendation, because Bolu is a brilliant mind, but this event took place in 2024.
What happened to the more recent praise-worthy and commendable achievement by pharmacist, Chika Onochie who has just won CAD$100,000 research award for his groundbreaking male fertility study in the same Canada?
You know as much as I do that a lot of people have concluded you’re unashamedly tribalistic, especially in the way you discharge your duties. I’ve never gotten involved in that conversation about you. But the moment I saw this post, my alarm bells went off.
Could it be that, rather than post about this milestone by an Igbo boy which literally just happened and has been widely reported in the media, you went all the way back to 2024 to pull a Yoruba-centric milestone by Dr. Bolu? That’s flat out tribalism!
You’re neither a content creator nor a social media activist. You are a public servant taxed with ensuring the wellbeing and unity of Nigerians in diaspora, not Yorubas in diaspora - through the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization.
To see something like this from you has further buttressed my long held notion that this administration’s nepotism is extremely infectious and unlike anything we’ve seen since the life of this nation. And this is what happens when it trickles down from the top.
Honestly, this is very regrettable and I think you should apologize and retrace your steps.
Álvaro González revealed that he went six months without being paid after moving to Saudi Arabia. 🗣️🇸🇦
🗣“I was in Saudi Arabia without being paid for six months. I wasn't worried because I had already spent 14 years in football and had saved some money, but I had gone there to earn money.”
He told LeFutbolin that the players had already started experiencing payment delays before Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Saudi Arabia in December 2022.
After learning about the situation, Ronaldo stepped in and helped those who were still waiting to be paid.
🗣“He found out about the situation. He was going to be paid by the government, and he said that out of his first salary, which wasn't small, the first thing they had to do was pay the players. Some of us hadn't been paid - not everyone - and he said: 'Until these people get paid...' He didn't have to do it, but Cristiano did.”
Class from CR7 ❤️
Olawale, you’re absolutely right! Peter Obi was wrong to rely on information available on Google and Wikipedia. As a responsible politician, he should have gathered the Agberos around the stadium, handed them calculators, and commissioned a physical headcount of every seat before daring to tweet. How dare he trust information published online instead of consulting the local seat-counting authorities...
A father and his four children were swept away inside their car when raging floodwater carried them off the road.
Several strangers saw the family trapped, but the current was too strong to safely reach them. Then a township worker came by driving a backhoe.
The strangers flagged him down, climbed into the bucket and rode through the floodwater toward the car.
When they arrived, the father was fighting the current with his youngest child in his arms, while three more children were still trapped near the car.
The men held onto each other’s belts and formed a human chain from the backhoe to the family.
All four children and their father made it out safely.
These are the kinds of people I wish the internet talked about more.
@Unabombaar You should have ignored him. He's clearing looking to upgrade his 500 followers and thought the best way to go about that is to denigrade Harry, of all people!
