@darlingjeromy@BethMooreLPM@birdchadlouis I have gained a new appreciation for the Catholic faith as my own faith has grown. I think we were fed a lot of negative propaganda in Gen X. I think some very good Popes have also helped. Anxious to see what a Chicago Pope will accomplish!
@rashmoosten@rick_morton@philvischer It doesn't matter. The orphans and widows are the losers either way. I could care less who is winning or losing the debate. Phil is right AND Rick is right. I'm a firm believer in Both/And. The church needs to get motivated and step up. The gov't needs to continue assistance.
Refugees are one of the most intensely screened populations admitted to the United States, with applicants rigorously vetted by DHS as well as other law enforcement, intelligence, and counterterrorism agencies.
I really like this lady. She cares and makes a fact based assessment of what is going on in our economy.

The Republican Party now shaped in Donald Trump’s image is now a pro-choice party. Voting Trump and Republican does absolutely nothing in 2024 towards protecting innocent, unborn life in the womb. To gain political advantage, Trump convinced the Republican party officials to drop the previously long held GOP position opposing abortion. So, if you’re voting Republican behind opposing abortion, you have deceived yourself. Trump nor the party currently holds that position.
The Republican party, nor Trump opposes gay marriage. That’s yesterday’s GOP. That was George W. Bush’s party & position. So, voting Republican on November 5, will not lead toward what was once was a bedrock principle & policy position of the GOP that marriage is one man, & one woman.
Vote as you please. But, don’t lie to yourself, or vote under false pretenses. Trump & the 2024 GOP has abandoned those positions. All of the preachers like Driscoll, Mohler, Franklin Ghrahm, Donnie Swaggart, Paula White, & tons of others mainly White evangelical preachers are not being honest with you when they encourage you to vote Trump/GOP in order to protect or enact legislation that’s going to somehow uphold traditional views in these two areas. Do not be deceived.
@LostMyHats@reachjulieroys@howertonjosh@AaronBrockett Yeah, I'm not sure I could follow a pastor who is not spending his time in the Word, developing his own sermons. Obviously as part of your research you look to others who have done research, but your primary source is the Word.
This is the message you’d expect from Al Mohler, John MaCarthur, Franklin Ghrahm, or leaders of predominantly White evangelical institutions. Not so, thus far.
Have no idea who Heath Mayo is, but I appreciate his remarks here, and agree with every single word.
