While Walmart refuses to raise its $11 minimum wage, Alice Walton had no problem purchasing a $500 million private art collection, buying a $25 million 2-floor Park Avenue condo with 52 windows and acquiring a $22 million 4,400-acre Texas ranch. Something is very wrong here.
You name it, House and Senate Republicans are opposed to it:
COVID relief? Against it.
Student debt? That too.
Voting rights? They want to make it harder to vote.
Climate action? Nope.
Getting more people healthcare? Never.
What are they for? Nothing but themselves.
HAWLEY: "Do you believe that illegal entry at America's border should remain a crime?"
Answer 1: Yes
Answer 2: Seditious conspiracy is also a crime; Josh Hawley should be in jail.
Call me a radical lefty, but I don't think 15 members of Congress should be allowed to sit on corporate boards when they're supposed to be serving their constituents.
Several friends have been surprised by my saying our first task is to do what we can to help Biden succeed. Here's Lincoln 160 years ago today: "If we do not join now to save the good old ship of the Union on this voyage, nobody will have a chance to pilot her on another voyage."
The Senate failed to convict, but I want to reiterate this:
All honor to the House impeachment managers and their staff, who, under great pressure, had the coolness and capacity to create a trial record that tells the truth of January 6th to our own and future generations.
My fellow Americans—If this nation is going to long endure, we, as a people, cannot condone Trump’s conduct.
If lying about elections is acceptable, if encouraging political violence becomes the norm, it will be open season for whoever has the biggest clubs, most powerful guns.
Donald Trump destroyed the Republican majority in the House, Senate, and their control of the White House. The vote to turn a blind eye to the instigation of sedition, cop killing, and treason will forever haunt their party and lead to their collapse.
Remember this day.
If Congress won’t do its Constitutional duty, convict & disqualify Trump, then DOJ must fully investigate Jan. 6 & prosecute those responsible. Gov’t can’t work if people lose all confidence & that’s where we are if no branch of gov’t acts after the evidence we saw yesterday.
We're only part way through but I've seen enough to say this: All honor to the House impeachment managers and their staff, who, under great pressure, have had the coolness and capacity to create a trial record that tells the truth of January 6th to our own and future generations.
22% of the Senate Republicans who are jurors at his impeachment today got up and left in the middle of the prosecuters presenting the case to convict Trump. That's disgraceful. It shows complete contempt for their constitutional responsibilities.
