@OneBadDude_ The right to peaceable assembly and to protest, yes. The ability to obstruct law enforcement operations you don't agree with and become a criminal yourself, no. There's a line between lawful protest and unlawful activity. That line was crossed. Is it regrettable? Yes. Sad? Yes.

@Chicago1Ray Saw a post about this. The fare change was approved back in September. The system is independent of city hall and state run according to that post. He doesn't even have control over it as mayor according to that. NYC owns the tracks, state run MTA operates the trains.

@LauraBabcock Maybe not a literal shooting war, but a war of some sort. Drugs for example. I'm in Ottawa. The amount of needles, alcohol wipe packs, saline, the harm reduction supplies are littered everywhere. I saw a guy last summer struggle to sit up beside his wheelchair, inject, lay down.

Desperate people with nothing to lose and needs for gains could get a payout for a marriage on paper that gets dissolved once the newcomer obtains permanent residency or citizenship
