@MusicJim2 I thought the model band was fun the first time, but didn’t need a third iteration. IMO, the dancers saved this video. Never found them credited by name. Always liked Palmer’s singing, and he said he wanted to turn the song around by having a guy sing it.

@Hot_Pepper76 Major Carpenters fan here. Saw them live once, owned all the albums. Karen was a great drummer, and extraordinary singer, but had a sad personal life. Toxic mother, poor self-image, phony husband, and a talented but demanding brother.
@ClassicMovieHub We all loved her eyes. Angela and Veronica worked hard and played in a lot of shows. Veronica was also very good in Alien and Inserts.
@noirgal17 We watched it every week, and I still remember the lyrics, too. I liked that it was a different setting than the usual western, and that Mark Lenard’s nasty character was eventually reconciled to the situation and not such a bad guy.
@LauraRbnsn Took a course from Peter Stearns that touched on marriage age. He believed that men often had to wait to inherit, until their dad passed, to be an attractive suitor. Also that preindustrial girls weren’t experiencing menarche as early as after the potato improved nutrition.
@miles_commodore Absolutely, and I read that it influenced a lot of localities to train paramedics and EMTs for their fire departments. Streamed it all again a few years ago, and it holds up.
