@UTexas35 @ProsperHS@Paige_Trujillo_ Both in CTM and just in daily discussions with, I have conversations about what is most important and what to let go. Also, how to hold kids accountable but not add extra work to their plate so they can focus their time and energy in the classroom.
@CoachHutti @UTexas35 @ProsperHS@Paige_Trujillo_ This is a really great point. As teachers we have strengths and weaknesses, and so do the students. We have also been using our students strengths in chem. We started a list of our students that are excelling and have been drafting them to help peer tutor during ET.
@UTexas35 @ProsperHS@Paige_Trujillo_ Our chem team is having very successful conversations ensuring we are all on the same page as to what the students need to know and how to know if they have learned it. We just started developing/using some great strategies for responding to when students don’t get it.
@UTexas35 @ProsperHS@Paige_Trujillo_ A3 -Collaborative teams are all about relationships. Giving the team member a reason/task that is meaningful to them will help them become more connected to the team and its ultimate goals. Sometimes they just need to feel valued and see the positive results from their effort.
@UTexas35 @ProsperHS@Paige_Trujillo_ A2: The team member that doesn’t contribute to the work can often be really troublesome. It can lead to resentfulness by the other team members if not addressed, cause others to contribute less too, and leave members feeling overwhelmed and overworked. #PHSTL
@UTexas35 @ProsperHS@Paige_Trujillo_ A1: The collaborative team process can help more students achieve success (and maybe interest) in classes and can actually relieve the tremendous physical and mental work load that teachers face. #PHSTL
