A Church of England vicar is warning that Britain's parish churches are heading for real trouble unless things change.

Rev Marcus Walker, founder of Save the Parish, says years of church closures, overstretched vicars, shrinking budgets and fewer volunteers have pushed many local parishes to breaking point. His campaign says more than 400 Church of England churches closed between 2010 and 2019.

He's now calling on Church leaders to put more money back into local parishes and support the churches that baptise our children, celebrate our marriages and bury our loved ones.

While he certainly didn't vilify cats, Attenborough suggested a way we can ensure our beloved felines cause as little damage as possible to garden birds. The solution couldn't be simpler or more glaringly obvious - pop a bell on their collar. He says this could reduce cats' "hunting success by a third". 🔔🐦

Another handy tip to stop cats from hunting unsuspecting birds is to bring them indoors during critical times, such as dusk and dawn, when birds are at their most active. These periods also overlap with the optimal hunting time for cats. 🌙🎯

One additional highly recommended, expert-endorsed step is to place bird feeders substantially higher up, well beyond the reach of prowling pets - and at least two metres away from dense vegetation. 🌱

Born in a Yorkshire clay cottage, the son of a farm labourer. No money. No name. No connections.

He left school young and stood behind a shop counter in a fishing village, watching the boats come in off the North Sea. That was meant to be his life.

It wasn't.

He went to sea on the Whitby coal ships, learning every rope and tide the hard way, then joined the Royal Navy as an ordinary seaman and rose on skill alone.

And the skill was rare. Cook could read the sea and put it down on paper. He charted New Zealand in full for the first time, mapped the eastern coast of Australia where there had been only blank space, and kept his crews alive when scurvy was killing men by the hundred on every other ship afloat.

By the time he died on a Hawaiian beach in 1779, a farm labourer's son from Marton had quietly redrawn the map of the world.

Quite unbelievable.

One of the very last acts of Keir Starmer as Prime Minister has been to reward one of the key blockers of an independent inquiry into grooming gangs and child sexual exploitation across Keighley and the wider Bradford District.

Meet Alison Lowe. She is Labour’s Deputy Mayor for Policing for West Yorkshire.

Keir Starmer made her a Baroness, placing her in the House of Lords, giving her the power to vote on all key national legislation going forward.

For years, Alison refused to back our campaign to get an independent inquiry into grooming gangs across the Bradford District, and only seemingly changed her mind once Baroness Casey’s audit was released on the 16th June 2025.

Alison failed to act when she held the power to do so on one of the biggest national scandals that has haunted communities like Keighley and the wider Bradford District for decades.

And now Alison has been rewarded for it by the Prime Minister with a place in the House of Lords.

It stinks. And it is nothing but a reward for failure and a huge smack in the face to all those victims and survivors who have campaigned for years to have their voices heard through an independent inquiry across the Bradford District.

Andy Burnham is days from Downing Street. In that time he has not issued a single statement on Operation Hexagon, the operation that hunted the whistleblowers who tried to expose grooming gangs in Oldham and not the men who were gang raping little White girls.

This is not an oversight.

It is the same pattern Burnham has run since the beginning when he commissioned the Assurance Review that buried Oldham's cover up rather than expose it. He knows what silence buys him. It bought him three years of narrative control last time. It secures him a premiership now.

You will have seen it for yourself. Nobody in the press pack chasing his every word has asked him a single question about Operation Hexagon. Not the BBC. Not GB News. Not The Guardian or the Telegraph.

Before it became something they could no longer avoid, it was the same with the Pakistani Rape Gangs. In the end, they reported on it because they had to. Likewise, the same with the post office scandal. They reported on it because ordinary people would not go away. No matter what they did to them.

- ‘Liberal’ really means illiberal, often frighteningly so
- the ‘anti-fascists’ are strikingly similar in outlook and methods to the actual fascists
- the ‘anti-racists’ turn out to be more obsessed with race and more racist than any generation since the 1930s, especially when it comes to Asians, Jews and whites
- ‘Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion’ really means no diversity at all, rather strict uniformity of ideas, and the forceful exclusion of dissenters
- ‘Safe spaces’ are very unsafe spaces for anyone expressing any kind of open inquiry or challenging idea
- ‘pro-science’ says men can have periods and women can have penises.

Hedgehog nearly dies after yobs paint her blue and yellow in @LUFC colours.

A poor Hedgehog has been left with ‘severe breathing problems’ after yobs painted her in the colours of Leeds United.

Staff at Prickly Pigs Hedgehog Rescue, based in Otley, took her in and cleaned her up, a process that involved scrubbing the oil-based paint from each spine individually and administering pain relief.

The Times have just published a vile hit piece on Restore Britain today - including the full name of Lydia, who volunteers for Restore Britain in London.

As a victim, she gave evidence to the Rape Gang Inquiry.

She was groomed, tortured, kidnapped and trafficked from the age of 15 while in local authority care in Tower Hamlets.

The Times newspaper has published her full name and picture, putting her at huge risk.

I am furious.

I am writing to the editor, demanding an apology and support.

We have offered to provide alternative accommodation and other support for Lydia.

"Having survived what happens when you are vulnerable in a community that sees you as subhuman, I know exactly where this road leads.

This cannot continue. The trend must be reversed.
