@domesticetch yesss there's enough substance here to put in an essay. tumblr put me onto this; u can't find what you're looking for unless you know the tag for it. eg terming styles and aesthetic blog styles as pale grunge/pastel goth. its the keywordization of style
I think naming a style while we’re still in it is a very new phenomenon. Historically things have often been called something different in the moment than they are later (ex: “style moderne” → “art deco”). Social media just incentivizes us to delineate micro trends as they form!

@Weird_Scientist@CPConrad rent is $400 a month where i live and that's for a single room in a spared apt. you can share the room for $200 each. when i was living in downtown los angeles i was splitting a room for $550 a month so these things are possible. my friend had a private in dtla for $600.
