i'll be honest I think anne rice was a complicated person and her books are completely bananas but I have increasing respect for her capacity as an artist to indulge in completely monstrous characters and bash them together like eldritch ken dolls with no remorse whatsoever
If you wondered why after Hard Candy (2008), there seemed to be an odd drop in quality with Madonna’s three follow up records MDNA (2012), Rebel Heart (2015), and Madame X (2019), well, I did some research, and it looks like because CD sales were plummeting at the time and Madonna was making most of her money from touring, she thought signing with Live Nation would be a smart move because they were a touring company rather than a traditional record label. As part of that arrangement, her albums were released through Interscope.
Madonna has also said that after signing with Live Nation, there was pressure for her to participate in songwriting camps, where multiple writers and producers gathered to create songs in a more factory-like environment. She said she hated the experience because it was completely opposite to the way she had always made music.
