@RichLighten@COVID19Tracking@justin_hart I’m going to guess that it’s more likely that you’re seeing the impacts of testing throughput limitations. Each time you bring on a set of labs you are going to be stuck at that new throughout until you get more labs, techs, or equipment. It’s still early innings.
@gemdata@jeremycyoung@ktjazz14 That is a terrible control system that I hope nobody would be dumb enough to implement in real life. It would be better to find a set of constraints that gives a low enough R0 that flattens the curve indefinitely, or to use on/off constraints in a faster and more predictive way.
@ycl_glr @RiegerReport Completely wrong and moronic attitude. By going out you are contributing to the exponential spread of this virus that is quickly going to overwhelm our hospitals. Age does not matter. Stay home. Slow the spread.
PSA: Don't buy a used graphics card in the next two years. "Miners are blindly flashing their cards with bios dumps from a site called anorak[.]tech. Great times great times" (Risky Bisquick)
@brandon4bitcoin @TheCryptoAndrew @parabolictrav The sad part is that everyone actively trying to accelerate this process with hype is hurting our cause. Extremely short sighted. No explanation other than greed and/or ignorance.
@TheCryptoAndrew @parabolictrav These prices are pure speculation. The biggest threat to near-term Bitcoin prices is not living up to the ridiculous expectations that have been sold to the masses of new users. Need many more years of development to handle this kind of scale.
@brucefenton It’s way too soon. Crypto can’t even handle the moderate amount of users that have flowed in so far. Ironically the more people that try to squeeze in the more unusable and unstable it becomes. The new money doesn’t realize that this space will take many years to mature.
@csuwildcat@himoonji@JohnLilic @JonathanErlichL @twobitidiot Seriously? Gold is literally cheaper, safer, and easier to transfer and store than Bitcoin right now. Someday Bitcoin will have a chance at scaling to the masses. Years from now. Not now. This madness is just the result of greedy, uninformed money pouring in.
@ReganCoda@TheBrianMerwin @KlendathuCap He bought a comically small amount... for a middle class person storing wealth in a developed nation. That would be a huge sum of money for the billions of unbanked people that cryptocurrency was supposed to be the utopian saving grace for. This is too many people, too soon.
@himoonji@JohnLilic@csuwildcat @JonathanErlichL @twobitidiot Here’s an amusing thought: Right now, the more people that believe in Bitcoin the more useless it becomes. Any decentralized crypto would buckle under the transaction load of mass adoption at this time. Not to mention the clogged exchanges. Years of development still needed.
@csuwildcat@JohnLilic @JonathanErlichL @twobitidiot Same story every bull run. The people saying we’re about to see world domination are way too early. The tech is simply not ready for mass adoption yet. The speculators flooding in now will figure it out the hard way.
@CryptoPoland @JackMallers Credit cards and cash work at scale. Crypto is broken at the small scale adoption we’re at today. We’re getting too many people too soon, and the people buying in now aren’t sophisticated enough to realize it. Recipe for disaster.
@RonnieMoas It goes deeper than that Ronnie. Even the biggest names simply can’t handle this scale yet and none have a real path to get there without drastic changes that will put the entire projects at risk. $15+ BTC fees and ETH clogged with cats - really? Need more years for development.
@RonnieMoas Crypto is buckling under the attention it’s receiving right now. Too many users, too fast. Hearts are going to be broken in this bubble when crypto becomes shunned for another few years. As Andreas has said before, these are 1999 internet prices for 1994 internet technology.
Crypto isn’t quite ready for the uninformed masses yet. I’m not buying the S-curve explanation right now because the scaling needed for mass adoption just isn’t possible in this bubble’s lifespan. https://t.co/AhnrNMJYnE
@C_Nemory @ze_rusty @TheBrandonKang @Mr_PincoPallino@brianchoffman@wmougayar@VitalikButerin You’ve actually got it backwards. Moving fast and breaking things is not high on the list of anyone attempting to preserve value. Safety and security is what matters (slow & careful changes). The Bitcoin team is on the right path.
@s_loumakis @parabolictrav You should only invest as much as you can afford to lose while you enjoy the panic of people who took out cash advances and home equity loans.
