Binge listened to Cody Jinks on long drive home tonight after day in the field. Found some words to live by.
We all get by, by the grace of God, we all get by. @CodyJinksMusic
A big “Thank You” to @BenKCB_Diesel for another excellent, intensive management @PioneerSeeds PKP soybean trial in the books today for 2019. Great to see the yield potential of these newest genetics under this level of mnmgt throughout the year. @DonKyle10@mcclurewm@TheisAg
@TABeyrer The purpling only happens on purple flowered varieties. It occurs where sunlight is hitting the stem. you do not see the purpling of the stems on white flowered varieties. Cool nights seem to elevate expression.
@TheCornProphet@Delani_Alpaci I’d say that’s a good idea based on my obs. Takes good light interception to fill 5 seeds so trend is better in mid and upper canopy. #ProTip
@skporter Looks like diaporthe pod and stem blight to me. The microsclerotia of charcoal rot would be inside stem. Been a lot more PSB around last few years. Thoughts?
Tomorrow we’ll be taking on soybean breeding with Don Kyle, Soybean Breeding Evaluation Zone Lead at Pioneer. Make sure to turn on post notifications for us so you don’t miss a thing!
@JasonSchley@steeke7@vailcat Thanks for sharing. Most people don’t reallize soybeans set their initial root systems based on planting depth like a corn plant. So planting depth does impact root structure.
@bartlow_a With it coming in late, yield losses will be less than when we get it in August. The first move to mitigate losses from SDS would be selecting genetic tolerance. I like Pioneer 31A22X, 33A53X, 34A79X, and 36A83x.....solid genetics against SDS and very good yield.
