How many more Colorado communities have to burn before we wake up? A major new lawsuit filed by southern Colorado property owners reveals that the devastating Aspen Acres fire—which has scorched nearly 100,000 acres, forced thousands to flee, and destroyed at least 300 homes—was allegedly sparked and spread by neglected power lines owned by the San Isabel Electric Association. The lawsuit claims that the utility failed to clear the basic trees and dry brush surrounding their high-voltage lines. Neighbors had even spotted power line fires days before the main disaster, yet the company did nothing. While local families watch their homes and lives turn to ash, the Democrats running this state and country remain hyper-focused on pushing a costly, virtue-signaling "green energy" agenda. They pour billions into subsidizing massive new solar farms, wind turbines, and electric vehicles, yet they completely ignore the crumbling, basic grid infrastructure right in our backyards. We don't need highly subsidized, experimental climate policies while our actual, physical communities are in immediate danger.
