Can't quite believe what we've witnessed here.

A new low for Celtic in European football. Europa League football for them - more on that later in the week.

✍️ The stats from tonight:

1.) Celtic’s 2026/27 exit made it six consecutive Champions League qualifying campaigns ending in elimination, a run stretching back to 2018/19. That is the joint-record among clubs with 10+ Champions League group/league phase appearances, alongside Rosenborg.

2.) LASK have become the 24th club to score at least 5 goals in a match against Celtic. This was the 40th time Celtic have conceded 5 or more goals in their history.

3.) LASK ended a club-record run of 11 European matches without a win.

4.) This was only the 14th time in European football history that a team had held a four-goal lead in a tie and still been eliminated.

5.) This was also the 14th time a Scottish club had been eliminated after winning the first leg by at least two goals. Celtic are the only Scottish club to have gone out after winning the first leg by three goals, doing so tonight and after beating MTK 3-0 in 1964.

6.) All 41 other SPFL clubs have signed more players than Celtic so far in the summer 2026 window. Celtic have signed four, with The Spartans next on five.

7.) Dropping from the Champions League into the Europa League will cost Celtic at least €15m in UEFA earnings.
