Lives on the line where dreams are found and lost, I'll be there on time and I'll pay the cost, for wanting things that can only be found, in the .....
@MarkEglinton I do think most of the stuff we read is shite btw, so should let the process play out. I do have the fear though.
I love MON but I'd rather see him become Chairman, with a coach with a bit of a track record being appointed.
However if it's MON or Keane, it has to be MON.
@AndrewH_CelticU I'm not in favour of him due to his footballing credentials. Also, facts:
He joined prior to war breaking out, declined to stay on after the season depsite winning the league.
Yes the conflict didn't start in October 23.
Celtic had Israeli players not long ago.
Celtic Fans For The Liberation Of Palestine (CFLP) has released a statement opposing the potential appointment of Robbie Keane as Celtic FC's new manager:
“As Celtic fans, we oppose the proposed appointment of Robbie Keane as manager of Celtic Football Club.
Celtic supporters have a long and proud history of solidarity with the Palestinian people. For us, Robbie Keane’s decision to manage Maccabi Tel Aviv during the genocide in Gaza is impossible to ignore. To choose to manage a club in Israel while, less than 40 miles away, the same country was using indiscriminate weapons of mass murder against a defenceless people is unconscionable.
Celtic was founded by a community shaped by the legacy of genocide, displacement and famine. Our club’s roots lie in solidarity with those who suffered injustice and oppression. We cannot forget where we came from, nor turn our backs on those facing genocide today.
At a time when Celtic requires unity and collective purpose, this appointment would be deeply divisive among the support. It would also represent a predictable and uninspiring choice at a moment when greater ambition is needed.
We urge the Celtic board to listen to supporters’ concerns and reconsider this appointment.”
@AndrewH_CelticU I get it. It's going to split the fan base. Again. I rather prefer harmony and a couple of trophies tbh.
But at what point does it end? The Suadi's are very bad people. Chinese human rights are awful. Even the US now.
@MarkEglinton RK has done quite well in previous jobs in reality. If he hadn't worked in Israel most would be OK with him getting the job.
I'd love a Martinez, Slot etc. Clearly they ain't coming to us though.
@aboutceltic You claim to be Everything Celtic, so please send the proof that they haven't done due diligence.
The due diligence could have been simply finding out that very few want to work in Scotland.
RK wouldn't be my first choice, but if he gets the job then he should be backed.
@IncognitoCelt@MarkEglinton@1888Seamus and i was just pointing out the truth - moaning about DD won't change anything. Buy him out or dilute his holding. Until then we can only hope for the type of things I've mentioned. Everything else is just noise.
@IncognitoCelt@MarkEglinton@1888Seamus no need to be narky. Yes some clubs are doing work early - Rangers do it all the time. They're shite and lose a fortune. We need to VASTLY improve recruitment and speed of recruitment, but the transfer window is not even open for another fortnight.
@IncognitoCelt@MarkEglinton@1888Seamus so what, firebomb a few houses and shout some sweary words? You can't force anyone to sell. You can try and organise a challenge to his shareholding, i.e. get likeminded shareholders to put pressure on. Some are trying this. No guarantee it works. 9 days into close season.
