@WhiteyWoofman @osf_rekt@Degen__Ape__ Neither buying or selling. Yโall need to actually read the white paper. Opinions without understanding the fundamental business model is just willful ignorance. This buy back of the agent tokens comes from taxes paid by the buys of each token.
Memes are a counter movement to VC control. It represents, the people, always taking control against an unfair system. Leaders in any industry should always respect a counter movement. The people will always decide.
I can step down from my soap box now.

i have seen a few incorrect takes about this, and rumors that this is '$50m in selling pressure' this is simply not true
firstly, what exactly is the announcement about? simply put, the virtual tokens collected as fees will be used to purchase some virtual agent tokens
since the agent tokens are paired with virtuals, buying those agent tokens with virtual does not sell any virtuals, it simply adds virtuals token to the liquidity pool
this is basic knowledge of how a liquidity pool works
but if the liquidity pools were in WETH for example, the virtual tokens would get sold to WETH first, but this is not the case
this is however inadvertent sell pressure as since there will be more virtuals in the liquidity pool, the tokens will be worth more so holders are able to cash out more virtuals (which they will probably swap to weth or some other token). however they would not be able to sell the entire $50M because of the nature of liquidity pools and price impact. especially considering many of these tokens have very little liquidity
secondly i've also seen someone mention that this 1% fee has propped up the price. this is simply not true either, the 13M virtual that was accumulated was a fee, not a buyback
for example if someone wanted to buy 100 virtuals of a token, only 99 would get sent to the liquidity pool and 1 would be sent to the protocol as a fee. this 1 token obviously has not propped up the price as its already a virtuals token.
since it's just collecting existing virtual tokens rather than buying them, it's not creating upward price pressure
however, by not putting that 1% into the LP, it slightly reduces potential sell pressure since there's less tokens in the pool for people to extract, but this 13M was collected over the entire existence of the protocol so I don't think it has made a huge difference to the price action
TLDR: there is no direct sell pressure from this announcement and the inadvertent sell pressure is a non-issue anyway considering the token is $3.6B and highly liquid
Virtuals apply taxes to each trade. Like our government does on everything we buy. When the creators said this is a society, not just a protocol or an L1/2, they meant it. These taxes in proportion are returned to develop the agents in this society. Bullish, if Iโm a developer. I donโt just need my tokens price to increase to further build my agent. @virtuals_io created a revenue stream for me.
@liamherbst_ Negating the incorrect assumption in this statement. Itโs interesting, how you believe, investment in the ecosystem is a bearish move. ๐ค
Oh I agree, projects need substance and value. But unfortunately thatโs not the only thing that sells. Store brand laundry detergent vs Tide? Whatโs the difference? One has crystals and is flashy. Both accomplish the same task. One of them is 2-3x the price of the other. Get out of your feelings, and try to understand what Iโm saying. Iโm not attacking you.
@RStock790310 @ELONDONGKONG The airdrops alone. Iโve received $12K in value. Never in my two bear and bull cycles has that ever happened. @virtuals_io and @ethermage understand the ethos of crypto and truly care about the community. You canโt convince me otherwise!
@liamherbst_ Gotta love the clickbait. When you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the white paper and the business model. A disorganized set of ideas come together in one post. I love cypto #FUD
@cryptoserenityy @LesterVirtuals@virtuals_io He has a marketing issue. Projects donโt do well merely based on merit. Most people have no imagination, effective marketing provides them with it.
There is a reason legally why itโs being done this way. Financial laws are complicated. The easiest way to be aligned is equitable distribution. When an unbiased system I utilized, it protects all parties involved. So as a dev/creator, Build a project; garner attention; and you will be rewarded for it. Canโt make everyone happy ๐ซถ๐ฝ
