It was all worth it. Every moment of pain. Every moment of sadness. Every moment of disappointment. Every single minute brought us here - to a championship. The New York Knicks are NBA champions. The KNICKS are NBA CHAMPIONS. And no one can ever take that away from us
There had to be some of my fellow Ranger fans having some PTSD come up when we saw that 7.7 seconds on the clock as OG was taking those last free throws…
I originally posted this two years ago, the morning of Game 7 of the ECF (before John Leguizamo copied/pasted it). The words/sentiment still apply:
For Knicks fans out there that feel like they're about to throw up, I'll repeat what I've said multiple times during this incredible run: Try your best to appreciate it.
Pressure is a privilege.
Think about all those meaningless games you sat through for 20+ years. Think back on the Isiah Era, all the awful trades, and botched draft picks. Or trying to convince yourself that Moochie Norris, Frank Ntilikina, Willy Hernangómez or Damyean Dotson would develop into reliable starters.
Talking yourself into believing Steve Francis or T-Mac might resurrect their careers in NYC. Praying for saviors via free agency, only to watch one after another spur the city. Having to root for losses during entire seasons spent taking, only to get burned in the lottery.
During those days, you'd have given anything to feel the anxiety you now can't escape.
