An unfortunate reality, that I’ve discovered, is that: yes, they want experience. But they don’t want you to have the type of experience that endangers their stay at the company / job that you’re applying for. Vicious cycle.

@SceneinCinema I can see where Damien was coming from though. After Emma Watson dropped out and Emma Stone came in, I don't think she and Miles would've fit as neatly as Gosling and Stone would've. That being said, Chazelle could've worded it / handled it way better.
