It's totally disheartening to see people criticizing head coach #GautamGambhir for the series loss. He doesn't deserve criticism but instead should be dragged, slapped and kicked out from his role with immediate effect
Is anyone talking about this gross indiscipline Indian team has shown by reaching late for the match...???
Team was suppose to reach 1hr to 1.30mins before the match right...
Now according to Graeme Swann team hotel was 30mins away from the stadium
1.What Time did the team leave hotel???
2. How long they were stuck in the jam
3. If indian team had left hotel 1hr30mins to 1hr before the match team would have reached on time
4. My reading is team left only 30mins before the toss and decided they dont need to do any warm-ups and straight go for the toss in the process they probably got stuck in traffic which also must be the spectators and got delayed by less than 10mins beacuse we saw them walking in at 6.36pm into the stadium.
It clearly shows they didnt leave on time and they had this huge casual attitude and neither they followed the process of warming up properly. This should not be taken lightly. No professional team behaves like this. There should be penalties on all the players and heavy penalties on Captain and the Coach. Unfortunately this gross indiscipline is ignored as if nothing happened... Indian team delayed an international match by 45mins...England should have got an walkover. There must be a code of conduct in the ICC rules book.
India has travelled to england for ages but never got stuck in traffic...I never got stuck in traffic as a reporter covering matches in England and Southampton too @BCCI@ICC
First India got whitewashed by South Africa at home.
Then lost BGT for the first time in a decade.
Blamed the seniors, got Ashwin to retire, forced Kohli and Rohit to retire.
Then built an entire young team only for them to get whitewashed by New Zealand in Tests again at home.
This should’ve been enough ground to get the guy sacked. When was the last time India got whitewashed in a Test series at home twice in two years?
India’s ODI side was better than ever but someone wanted Shreyas Iyer to be sacked even though he has been India’s best number four batter for a long period of time. Luckily Kohli got injured and that never happened.
Despite winning Champions Trophy and also winning Player of the Final award, Rohit was asked to leave captaincy. Also there were questions being raised on his commitment issues etc which were again put to rest when both Rohit and Kohli stepped up in ODI series to follow.
There hasn’t been any progress post CT win even though we have played like a dozen ODIs. India still hasn’t found a replacement for Shami in Tests/ODIs but continue to ignore him.
Everything was right with the T20I side but someone felt Shubman Gill had to be brought back and made vice captain straightaway. This meant Sanju had to make way for him.
But Gill underperformed and at the last moment someone took a u-turn and removed him suddenly for the T20 World Cup.
The baffling selection tactics continued but Sanju showed his mettle with scores of 97*, 89 and 89 in last three knockouts and also won Player of the Tournament.
This is a personal opinion but if anyone deserved captaincy, it was Samson because of his vast experience and because he has proved himself with the bat. Instead it was Shreyas Iyer. While I don’t have doubts on his leadership credentials, the fact that we are bringing in someone who hasn’t played a single T20I for 2.5 years didn’t sit well with me but again that’s my personal take.
Three low scores and Sanju gets dropped, India lose to Ireland 0-2, lose to England 0-4 and lose their No.1 ranking for the first time in 3-4 years.
After all this blunders, if we still have the same man at the helm of Indian cricket, then we are doomed.
How have you handled a 15 yr old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi? I am afraid, very poorly. Dropping him just after 3 matches, this hurts the teenager's self belief. You could see the body language of the young boy in the dug out. This is not how you handle a child prodigy.
And the mayhem as far as the England Tour is concerned, continues. Our bowlers continue to look listless and clueless. Shivam Dube's dropped catch summarizes the tour, lazy, courage less approach, not how International Sportspersons play.
As I type this, the World Champions are getting hammered, left, right and centre. Harry Brook and Jos Butler are ruthless and we are not even putting up a challenge.
2 back to back matches lost to Ireland in Ireland, 3 consecutive matches lost to England in England and with the way Brook and Butler are going, it seems 0-4 is loading.
T20 World Champions cannot lose 6 consecutive matches abroad.
This is simply unacceptable!
