Not all #ISIS foreign fighters are just that.
- #Kosovo national Hysri Selimi, a convicted ISIS foreign fighter, was just sentenced to 6 years in prison for spying for #Serbiaโs intelligence agency, BIA.
- According to the prosecution, he was recruited by the BIA back in 2009 and was sent to Syria in 2015, allegedly on a mission to gather intel on Kosovo Albanians.
- Selimi was repatriated from #Syria in 2022 and sentenced that December to 4 years and 8 months for ISIS-related terrorism charges, to which he pleaded guilty.
- Yet he was arrested on espionage charges less than 3 years after repatriation despite being sentenced to 4 years 8 months. What gives? I'll explain:
- Selimi was detained by Kurdish SDF on August 1, 2018
- Was repatriated to Kosovo on May 28, 2022 and sentenced in December 2022
- Kosovo courts, unlike US courts in similar cases, chose to fully credit all his time in SDF camps + pre-trial detention toward the sentence, effectively reducing his time spent in a Kosovo prison after sentencing to a mere few months.
- Selimi reestablished contact with his Serb intelligence handler in September 2023 (per his confession) after being released from prison, and resumed activities, received phones and payment, and kept feeding intel to BIA.
- Bottom line, Selimi picked two of the most dangerous/deadliest jobs on Earth, jihadist foreign fighter and spy, yet lived to be sentenced for both in under 4 years. Go figure.

At the moment, ISSP has set its eyes on Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara. Kebbi and Sokoto are already in the kitty. Next is Zamfara. I donโt think the group will be in Kebbi without being tempted to expand to Niger. If that happens, Kwara and the Southwest should be worried.
This will of course depend on how the inevitable confrontations with Lakurawa on one hand and JNIM on the other turn out. Most importantly, it also depends on the governmentโs response.
This is a great time for Northern governors to put on their thinking caps, if they have any.
It is also a good time for the Southwest to put measures in place to forestall any potential infiltrations, despite JNIM and JAS being next door. Southwest leaders can make the region inhabitable for any group.
Except for a handful of people who have brainwashed themselves into believing that Iran somehow mattered a lot to the US, Americans won't give a shit one way or the other and they will be right, because Iran doesn't really matter to the US one way or the other as long as Hormuz stays open.
If the strait had remained closed, gas prices had gone through the roof and the world economy had exploded, on the other hand, they would have cared a lot. For all his faults, Trump at least understands that, whereas hawks don't. This fiasco will hurt him, but it was still better to cut his losses.
Sky News has verified 152 of those killed when a US missile struck a primary school in Minab on the first day of the war.
Using a range of information sources, the faces of all the 120 students - aged 6 to 13 - and 26 teachers have been identified โฌ๏ธ
DHQ PRESS RELEASE
TROOPS RESCUE WIFE OF FORMER DIRECTOR DEFENCE INFORMATION FROM BANDITS
Troops of the Nigerian Army with the support of the Nigerian Air Force have successfully rescued Mrs Amina Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar and former Director Defence Information, who was abducted by bandits alongside her husband a few weeks ago.
The rescue operation followed intensified search-and-rescue efforts conducted by troops of Operation FASAN YAMMA. During sustained offensive operations and pressure mounted on the criminal elements, troops made contact with the bandits at Tunga Village, leading to the successful recovery of Mrs Abubakar.
In the course of the encounter, the bandits shot Mrs Abubakar before abandoning her and fleeing due to the overwhelming pressure from advancing troops.
Mrs Abubakar was immediately evacuated and is currently receiving medical attention at a military hospital, where she is responding to treatment.
The leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria remain committed to ensuring her full recovery and is providing all necessary support to her family during this difficult period.
Troops will continue ongoing operations to track down and neutralise the perpetrators, while intensifying efforts to rid affected communities of terrorists not just in Katsina but in the entire nation.
