many web3 projects today are struggling to build an engaged community, even though they have a good product
there are many projects with thousands, clocking even up to 100k followers but they get maybe 10 likes on average
this is a major problem and i have a few tips for projects to avoid being in this situation, stay with me now...
1. attract the right set of users/members from the start
this is the foundation for every other step
engagement campaigns do more harm than good to your brand
it creates a monetary relationship between you and your community - if there's no reward, they don't participate
this is ineffective on the long run because they don't boost the project in any way, only want a quick cash out. 🫰
2. create a brand identity (a cult)
cult-like communities always have something unique peculiar to them, and it makes them recognizable anytime you see them on your feed.
for example: notice how you automatically think farcaster when you see ‘💜’ or ‘frames’
that's a unique identity, find one for your community.
3. create content that drives engagement
stop posting content that doesn’t resonate with your audience
stop posting content that are either too technical or too broad
👉 instead, use memes, questions and storytelling. leave all the techy stuff in your community channels.
4. encourage user generated content (UGC)
identify your most engaged community members and give them tools and recognition to create content about you
your project grows faster when everyone's talking about it + UGC are more relatable and credible than official posts.
5. always engage back
like, reply and quote people who engage. it makes your followers feel seen and heard (for you it's just a like but it means so much more to them)
couple that with being active in places where the problem you solve is being discussed, watch how the engagement will flow towards you naturally...
