Up on the #Moray coast this week talking all things #adaptation with the #coastal communities. Takes me back to many childhood holidays. Over 20 years ago now!
@JBAConsulting we aim to support #resilience and #adaptation ambitions through innovative approaches. Some thoughts on an ongoing concept being delivered by @demic2104.

Our colleague Demetra @JBAConsulting is at the @ArmyERDC coastal monitoring field site in North Carolina this week. The visit focuses on coastal imaging research which will play a big part in smart coastal #resilience and #adaptation planning.
@RennieAlistair Hi Ali. @KatieCorbett_ and @demic2104 know best but we're starting to piece all of the survey together. Veg/ecology walkover this week I think. We'll be in touch soon with an update.
Could #CoastSnap help the ongoing requirements to adapt to #climate and #coastal change?
Some ramblings on #adaptation monitoring requirements from last month's @SnifferScotland conference here.

The team @JBAConsulting are working through some analysis of our #CoastSnap stations. Interesting to see the changes during the winter 2022/23.
#Stonehaven has flattened exposing more of the seawall, which will influence overtopping.

Calling all #PhD students! Exciting research opportunity with JBA’s #CivilEngineering team & #COAST Engineering Research Group @PlymUni to investigate wave overtopping of seawalls fronted by shingle beaches - at world class COAST Laboratory.

Interesting conditions at our #Montrose#CoastSnap site today. Thankful the team completed their survey here on Wednesday.
Waves seem to be dropping but still prolonged from the southeast through the weekend.
@snoweider Spring tide only a wee bit higher than average. Sea level being helped along by a healthy storm surge thanks to the low pressure in N Atlantic. Half a metre surge minimum from a quick calc. Higher at midnight and through tomorrow maybe.

@ScanningScience@CoastSnapSco@JBAConsulting Always happy to discuss more Peter. Without knowing the details, #CoastSnap might not be the best option but there are other ways we can monitor remotely at low cost. Send me a message
@steamingboots You were a day ahead of us on a similar expedition. This was the only sliver of sun in 2 days. The trick of probabilistic forecasting.
