🍩 Are These the Most Legendary Donuts in Washington? | Legendary Doughnuts Review 🍩
When The Dough Necessities rolled into Legendary Doughnuts in Orting, Washington, we quickly realized the name is not just marketing, it is a promise.
This Pacific Northwest favorite is known for making huge, over-the-top doughnuts that are handmade fresh every day using premium ingredients.
Their display cases are packed with wild creations like maple bacon bars, candy-topped doughnuts inspired by treats like Snickers or Twix, and their famous “Doughsants,” a delicious hybrid that combines the flaky layers of a croissant with the fluffy goodness of a doughnut.
With nearly 100 different varieties and creative toppings piled high, it is basically a playground for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Legendary Doughnuts actually started as a true small-town dream. In 2010, Washington couple Ken and Shannon Patten opened their first shop in Auburn with a simple goal: spread happiness and bring the community together over incredible doughnuts.
That idea took off fast, and today the shop has grown to multiple locations around the Seattle area while still keeping that fun, welcoming vibe.
They are also famous for quirky doughnut names inspired by celebrities, movies, and pop culture, plus giant doughnut cakes and outrageous specialty treats that make any celebration unforgettable.
In short, Legendary Doughnuts isn’t just a place to grab breakfast. It is a full-blown sugar adventure that turns an ordinary morning into something legendary. 🍩
Until next time, keep it sweet, keep it fried, and never forget... The Dough Must Go On! 🎉🍩💛
Stay sweet, dough fam!

LaMar’s Donuts Taste Test | Home of the Legendary Ray’s Original Glazed 🍩
LaMar's Donuts & Coffee is famous for doing donuts the old-fashioned way and doing them really well.
Their claim to fame is the legendary Ray’s Original Glazed donut, a light, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth classic that donut lovers across the country swear by.
But that is just the beginning. LaMar’s offers dozens of varieties, from giant apple fritters and cinnamon rolls to colorful iced cake donuts and seasonal favorites.
Everything is made fresh daily using time tested recipes, which is why many fans call them the gold standard of traditional donut shops.
The story started in 1933 when Ray LaMar began making donuts at the age of 17. Lamar eventually opened the very first LaMar’s in Kansas City, MO in 1960 with a simple goal: make incredible donuts and treat customers like family.
Word spread quickly, lines formed, and a local favorite was born. Over the decades LaMar’s grew into a beloved brand across several states, but they still stick to Ray’s original philosophy of fresh donuts, great coffee, and friendly service.
So when The Dough Necessities stopped by, we knew we were tasting a piece of donut history that has been making mornings sweeter for more than 60 years. 🍩😄

The Dough Necessities was invited to visit Parlor Doughnuts, and let’s just say these are not your average doughnuts.
Parlor is famous for their layered doughnuts, which are made from buttery laminated dough that creates dozens of delicate, flaky layers in every bite.
Think croissant meets doughnut and decides to live its best life. They started in Indiana and quickly grew a loyal following because once you’ve had a layered doughnut, it is very hard to go back to the regular round guys.
What really sets Parlor apart is their mix of sweet and savory options. You can go classic and indulgent with flavors piled high with glazes and toppings, or lean savory with creations that feel more like brunch than dessert.
It is the kind of place where you say, “I will just try one,” and five minutes later you are strategically guarding the box.
Crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside, and packed with flavor, these doughnuts are absolutely a must try!

Donutology KC: The Donut Shop That Sent a Donut to Space!
@elonmusk - we need to collab with you on sending one there ASAP!
When The Dough Necessities stopped by Donutology in Kansas City, they found a shop that truly lives up to its “donut laboratory” name.
From classic full-size donuts like glazed, chocolate iced, and maple frosted to wildly creative specialty flavors, there’s something for every kind of donut fan.
One of the biggest highlights is their made-to-order mini donuts, served warm and perfect for mixing and matching different icings and toppings so you can sample a bunch of flavors in one visit.
Whether you want to build your own combo or stick with a tried-and-true favorite, Donutology makes the experience interactive and fun.
They also stand out for offering 100% certified gluten-free donut options, giving those with gluten sensitivities a chance to enjoy cake-style donuts without missing out on the flavor or texture.
And of course, there’s the legendary space donut story: Donutology famously sent a donut up nearly 100,000 feet into the atmosphere using a weather balloon, capturing the whole journey and cementing their reputation for creativity.
For The Dough Necessities, it wasn’t just about great donuts, it was about visiting a place where innovation, inclusivity, and a little bit of outer space magic all come together. Our experience was simply out of this world!🚀🍩

Is Tous les Jours the Best French Bakery Chain? | Pastry Review & Visit
From Seoul to the World: The Rise of Tous les Jours Bakery. We Tried Tous les Jours Pastries: Are Their Croissants Actually Good?
Tous les Jours is a global bakery brand with a French name and influence, and our visit showed exactly why they’ve become so popular. Why is Tous les Jours one of the most popular French bakeries in the world? Let’s find out!
Founded in South Korea in 1997, the name “Tous les Jours” means “every day” in French, reflecting their mission to offer fresh baked goods daily.
While the company blends French technique with Asian and American flavors, their pastry case is rooted in classic French inspiration. From flaky croissants and pain au chocolat to beautifully layered Danishes and cream filled pastries, everything is light, buttery, and made to look just as good as it tastes.
What stood out most was how approachable and consistent the experience is. Tous les Jours is not trying to be a tiny boutique patisserie.
It is bringing French style pastries to the everyday customer on a global scale. Their ability to balance quality, freshness, and accessibility is why they’ve grown into an international favorite.
Whether you’re grabbing a quick croissant or sitting down with a full pastry spread, Tous les Jours delivers that Parisian café feel in a way that works for modern bakery lovers everywhere.

From Paris to Parker: The French Bakery Taking Colorado by Storm | Poulette Bakeshop
The Dough Necessities stopped by Poulette Bakeshop in Parker, Colorado, and this place is the real deal.
Poulette was founded by husband-and-wife pastry chefs Alen Ramos and Carolyn Nugent, both classically trained in top kitchens in Paris and beyond before bringing their skills back to Colorado.
Their goal was simple but ambitious: create a neighborhood bakeshop built on true French technique, world-class ingredients, and obsessive attention to detail.
Since opening, Poulette has quickly grown from a local secret into a national standout. They’re even opening a new location soon as well.
What they’re known for is next-level pastry craftsmanship. Their croissants, pain au chocolat, and seasonal viennoiserie are flaky, buttery, and beautifully layered, while their filled choux pastries, tarts, and breads show both precision and creativity.
Poulette has earned major national recognition and a loyal following because everything they make feels intentional and elevated. This is the kind of bakery where even the “simple” items are unforgettable.
It’s exactly why Poulette Bakeshop has become a destination spot for pastry lovers in Colorado and beyond.

Desert Donuts is all about bold flavors, creative combinations, and donuts that look just as good as they taste.
They lean into fun, unexpected toppings and fillings, and they also offer protein donut bowls and some of the best gluten-free donuts we’ve had, which makes the case feel more like a dessert bar than a traditional donut shop.
What really makes them unique is their willingness to experiment. From over-the-top specialty donuts to seasonal creations you won’t find anywhere else, Desert Donuts pushes the boundaries while still nailing the basics.
It’s the kind of spot where you can grab a classic and then try something totally wild right next to it, and both deliver.

Hidden Gem Donut Shop in Rapid City, South Dakota | Jerry’s Cakes and Donuts
The Dough Necessities recently made a must visit stop at Jerry’s Cakes and Donuts in Rapid City, SD, and it absolutely delivered.
A longtime local favorite, Jerry’s has been serving the community for decades with classic donuts made fresh daily, keeping traditional recipes and methods alive in a world of trendy sweets.
The shop’s history and consistency are a big reason it remains a go to spot for both locals and visitors.
During the visit, the standout donuts were the sour cream old fashioned, which was rich, moist, and perfectly textured, and the butter crunch donut, which was simply superb with its buttery flavor and satisfying crunch.
These donuts showcase the kind of old school craftsmanship Jerry’s is known for and are a reminder that sometimes the classics really are the best.

Can Convenience Store Donuts Actually Compete? WHO WILL WIN?
The Dough Necessities took on another national and regional donut taste test, joined by our usual guest Ben Lee, aka Donut Critic, along with a special guest to help break things down for your Everyday Donuts Taste Test.
This time we sampled donuts from Little Debbie, Walmart, 7 Eleven, and Franz Bakery (again) to see how these widely available options stack up.
Franz brought a more traditional, old-fashioned style with dense, cakey donuts that leaned into classic flavors and a nostalgic bakery feel.
Little Debbie delivered exactly what many remember from childhood. Sweet, soft, and simple, but clearly more of a packaged snack than a fresh donut experience.
Walmart and 7 Eleven rounded out the test with convenient, grab and go donuts. Walmart offered solid value and familiar flavors you would expect from a grocery store bakery, while 7 Eleven surprised with decent texture and flavor when fresh, especially in their simpler varieties.
Overall, it was a fun comparison of convenience, nostalgia, and everyday donut expectations.
Until next time, keep it sweet, keep it fried, and never forget... The Dough Must Go On! 🎉🍩💛 Stay sweet, dough fam!

Donuts Like You Have Never Seen! Seattle’s Latin Inspired Doce Donut Paradise
Our visit to Doce Donut Co. in Seattle was a delicious blend of local pride and bold Latin American flavor.
To watch full episode, visit: https://t.co/IkkbWFF04P
The shop’s name, Doce, meaning twelve in Spanish, is a nod to Seattle’s passionate Seahawk fanbase known as the 12s or the 12th Man.
That hometown spirit shows up in the vibe of their shops and the energy of the teams behind the counter. The owners bring their Venezuelan and Argentinian baking roots to every batch, creating donuts that feel both comforting and creative.
Doce is known for its soft brioche dough and standout flavors like Tres Leches with toasted meringue, Guava con Queso filled with tangy sweetness, and their churro inspired Dulce de Leche. Even their strawberries and cream was splendid!
The donuts are big, rich, and crafted with care, making them feel more like gourmet desserts than morning pastries.
Our takeaway for viewers is simple. Go early, go hungry, and be ready to taste why this shop has become a fan favorite in a city where community, flavor, and pride all come together

A Donut… With Everything Bagel Seasoning?! Only in Seattle 😂 #doughnut#donuts

The Dough Necessities recently paid a visit to Dough Joy in Seattle, WA, one of the city’s most colorful (and delicious) plant-based donut spots. They are known for being Seattle's first and only 100% plant-based donut shop.
If you’ve never been, Dough Joy is known for its vibrant atmosphere, creative flavors, and the kind of sweet smells that make you instantly forget any self-control you walked in with.
During our visit, we decided to try something a little unconventional: the Everything But the Bagel donut.
Yes… a donut inspired by everyone’s favorite savory seasoning. And let’s just say, it was interesting.
Picture the soft, sweet dough of a classic donut paired with the garlicky, oniony, sesame-seed goodness you’d normally expect on a bagel.
It’s a flavor mashup that catches you off guard in the best way.
Not your everyday donut, but definitely a fun one to try if you’re feeling adventurous.
