Growing up in NJ, the Sopranos-style "gabagool" (capicola) and "manigot" (manicotti) everyone said sounded like fake, mangled Italian to me.
Turns out it's the opposite. Those are preserved Southern Italian dialects that got stamped out back home in favor of Tuscan-based standard Italian after unification in 1861.
The diaspora kept the old patchwork alive better than modern Italy did.
@Molson_Hart Always - Definitely worse since COVID. The amount of people who get a plane ticket and a hotel months in advance but don't buy the ticket until like a week before is staggering
My younger daughter is 5 almost 6 - her older sister was the flamingo lover and the exact opposite.
In kindergarten she used to play "stuffy kindergarten" where your "Elizabeth Flamingo" was having trouble learning how to read and listening to the teacher. It became the mission of EVERY character my older daughter played to patiently (or perhaps not so patiently) correct Elizabeth’s mistakes in class.
Very different kids
Turned off our ads as promised.
We apparently lost our organic search rank for "stem toy" for Brain Flakes, but I was happy to do it.
Amazon needs stop treating their sellers like a couch they can reach into every time they need money.
Amazon sellers are boycotting today, April 15th, over the new credit card ban for ad costs. Amazon's already backpedaling, but sellers are making their voices heard. Are you participating? #AmazonSellers#Boycott@amazonPPC

In the last 12 months I’ve spent heavily on Amazon ads alone.Yesterday I was notified that starting August 1, I can no longer use credit cards. With DD+7, this is painful for business’s cash flow

Taking part in the Amazon ads boycott today.
Between DD+7, a 3.5% surcharge, and now credit card ad changes — something has to give.
I wish they understood how critical cash flow is to the sellers funding their entire ads ecosystem.
Facebook and Google sell ads to drive traffic — they don't care what happens after the click. Amazon is different. Their ad revenue only exists because sellers are actually moving products on their platform. Squeeze sellers too hard and the whole flywheel breaks.
In the last 12 months I have spent over 7m on Amazon ads alone. Yesterday I was notified that 1 Aug I can no longer use CCs. This coupled with DD+7 is painful for any biz's cash flow. @amznsellerhelp@amazon there has to be a better solution for us bootstrapped businesses.
First time I ever went on the record with a reporter even though I've been asked a million times. Feel like Amazon has gone too far this time and hope everyone sees it.
