@olsonplanner We looked into doing this at a radiology practice and were advised by our accountant to keep distributions under 20% of salary if we wanted to avoid triggering an audit.
Not saying you can’t do 300 salary, 200 distributions, but maybe prepare for scrutiny
@olsonplanner Because most physicians do not understand the true value of the work they perform.
But hospitals do
Best to find a physician owned, physician led organization to optimize their clinical practice and maximize their net worth
Like McFarland Clinic in Iowa
@radiologistpage My group is bringing an AI device online in a couple weeks and we just went through training. The list of exclusions of things that it can’t analyze is quite long.
AI devices will improve, but no AI manufacturer is taking on the liability risk
@SamMcDowell11@pgsween There are a ton of stats about Derrick Thomas on Pro Football Reference and https://t.co/viZdcCgcGb
What’s not there?
Arm length
For anyone who wants to learn more about Dr Saphier, Dr Geoff Rubin had her on a fantastic podcast a couple years ago.

@Conner_DKC IDK, Trey Smith was #226
I’m not criticizing you, but a lot of people treat 4th round and later picks as throwaways
You’re right to say the majority of the picks don’t become meaningful contributors
But there’s gold, too — they’re far from meaningless
@Conner_DKC IDK, Tyreek Hill was taken #165 overall — meaningless?
The general dismissal of 5th round and later picks by fans and analysts is dumb, IMHO
@EricTopol Exciting headline research result. Would love a tool to find PDAC early
But always check the F1 score on AI
Buried in the findings is the calculated F1, which is 48.4%, generally considered low/poor. Probably too many false positives.
@northwoods1980 If I was 10 years younger, I’d go back to law school and be the radiologist-attorney expert to nail the corporations that unleash the no-radiologist oversight AI models into the market.
