@zodchiii Would have loved to hear his response re how they perceive the threat of open models self-hosted going forward, and how they justify their costs long-term.
Dear @fubotv and @espn, whatever the complete opposite of seamless is, that’s your integration of espn unlimited for fubo subscribers. 0/10. You need to talk to each other.
@FedExHelp When did you decide it was better if your customers couldn’t reach a representative of your company when things weren’t right? Your “virtual assistant” is virtually a two-year-old in its capabilities. Your voice response system is a labyrinth that leads to nowhere. How am I supposed to get help with the package you’re just dragging between cities in Europe instead of delivering in the US?
Just finally saw a replay of Ricks drawing the dead ball personal foul to give LSU a first down instead of punting. Top tier stupidity by Ricks! Reaching around a ref to punch the opponent? I’d be fine if Elko benched him the rest of the night. Incredibly costly, childish, selfish act.
@youtubetv why do you flip our “local” stations between markets and then tell us we can’t record or watch recorded content because we’re not in our home area? It’s all you - we’re on same connection, in same house, but you move us at least 5-6x/year for a couple days to a week.
@jimduey I’m glad I know both - lots to learn from both approaches - but Clojure is nearer to how I think through problems, and got so many things right.
Almost 15 years ago, I was introduced to Clojure by an engineer friend. It quickly became my preferred language, and the majority of my work over the next 9 years was in Clojure.
The last five years I’ve mostly worked in Elixir/Erlang, with some golang mixed in more recently. (When I started, it was going to be Clojure, but VP of engineering decided shortly after I started to pivot to Elixir. It’s a fine language, and the BEAM VM is remarkable, so I haven’t disliked the work.)
I’ve spent a chunk of the last several weekends working on some software tools for my own use, and I chose to do that work in Clojure. I’ve been struck again by how compact, expressive and powerful the language is, and I appreciate it even more after my experiences in Elixir and golang.
