@DanNeidle The UT Chamber President, Heather Williams J, wasn't very keen on open justice when I requested copies of the pleadings in the Harron case. On this occasion, the Court of Appeal was unamused with the UT. https://t.co/tLlLHOHj4C
@100xAltcoinGems In 2024 you don’t wanna miss $KENDU! The next shib-gain opportunity with a relentless community that’s absolutely gonna rocket!
Get in while it’s early and retire next year 🔝🔝
A new Sikh ‘court’ has been launched in the UK. We oppose any attempt to incorporate non-statutory religious ‘courts’ into UK law. We want regulation to require such bodies to make it clear that they have no legal standing. 🧵

This decision by @CambsCC is not only patently ridiculous, but it is also entirely contrary to Article 10 of the Human Rights Act.
@CambsCC should reverse this decision.
What does it mean to have world-leading’ courts if they are increasingly giving up hearing ordinary cases involving ordinary people? My law column for @TheCriticMag. https://t.co/qmKZSYdSLV
The Tories:
We will force the sick and disabled into work and cut benefits
Labour:
We will force the sick and disabled into work and cut benefits
Can anyone show me the difference here?
@wheatfrom@CivilLitTweet@HouseChambers That sounds like what a DDJ said recently when excusing several breaches of the rules and orders by D, in disregard of binding authorities. Then he granted their app to strike out the claim, which hadn't even been issued and served.
@HouseChambers@CivilLitTweet In a recent case against a public authority, their solicitor filed her own witness statement which largely consisted of argument, and the DJ said it was OK as the rules on witness statements don't apply to solicitors and they do this all the time!
Wes Streeting still going on about using “spare capacity” in private health to cut NHS waiting lists. Instead of boosting profits in the private sector, why doesn’t Wes just pay NHS doctors and nurses properly?
Letters threatening eviction for communal heating arrears, not rent arrears! What are @lambeth_council thinking on this issue? @HousingOmbuds@PSOEngland is this how a social housing landlord should operate? @luhc Can you put a stop to this?
A laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a major operation with significant major potential complications, including mortality. Even as consultants, there is a great deal of scrutiny on the number of cases and the complication rate.
It is also an excellent training procedure for career surgical trainees who have been through 5 years at medical school and then at least 3 to 4 years before they are allowed to perform these cases.
They have also been through structured surgical training as well as completing basic surgical skills training and laparoscopic skills training and completed Part 1 and Part 2 MRCS.
These operations are NOT for the novice and should NOT be performed by anyone other than a trained surgeon or a surgeon in training with appropriate supervision AND only by qualified medical doctors.
We should not play with patients' lives.
This is unsafe and dangerous and needs to be stopped immediately.
The @RCSnews should have raised concerns during the peer review of this case series for publication.
I am astounded that the local ethical committee felt that approval was not necessary.
@WalsallHcareNHS need to stop this practice with immediate effect.
@CivilLitTweet I brought contempt proceedings in the FTT against Kingston Council in 2022, and one of its witnesses intentionally lied and the other recklessly made a false statement, as did its barrister. These further contempts misled the FTT, and it refused to certify the original contempt.
“The true sickness in this country can’t be found in a benefits office but in Downing Street. It is a political culture demonising people already suffering, and a rightwing media content to parrot the lies and bigotry it is fed.”
Me on Sunak’s “sicknotes” https://t.co/o8vIjXfU0e
The language on media right now is telling. There’s a ‘crackdown’ on benefits, apparently, like you have a crackdown on drugs or crime. Why not call it as it is, a concerted effort to take money away from disabled people who have a legal right to it?
