Paper day! This one is a fantastic joint effort from @alynakatti and @AdrianVegaPerez. I tweeted about this >1 year ago when the #preprint dropped, but there was a lot added in review, so... here is iBE - a new inducible #baseediting mouse model! 1/15 https://t.co/DDBc2JP6SN
Our paper, co-led with @kevanchu in the @dow_lab, is out today in @Cancer_Cell. We analyzed pre-treatment, on-treatment, and post-progression biopsies from 12 CRC patients treated with KRASi + EGFRi.

Genetic mechanisms of resistance to targeted KRAS inhibition

MAPK reactivation remains the predominant mechanism of resistance to KRASinh. Also identifies a hotspot mutation in CiC.
Excited to share the preprint of my postdoc work @dow_lab and @MSKCancerCenter! Joint work with co–first author @kevanchu

Haven't been on here since the first Tuesday in Nov, but...
...today I was promoted to Professor with tenure at @WeillCornell and wanted to post one last time to thank everyone that has helped our lab over the past 10 years! Science and guitar posts continue @dowlab.bsky.social
Alright, America… Let’s see if we can (finally) elect a more than qualified female candidate over an abundantly unqualified male. I’m looking at you, PA & WI. Vote!!
Ok, so unpopular opinion, I guess… I don’t think news entities should ever endorse political candidates.
They can and SHOULD report objectively on all the terrifying stuff coming from DJT. I’d much rather honest reporting than ‘both-sidesing’ and editorial opinions. Inform us!

In no other field do you hire someone for their immense expertise in a very niche field and immediately ask them to change what they do… science is weird.
Can we retire the “How will you distinguish yourself from your postdoc advisor?” question that is typically asked of faculty candidates? I don’t think there is a meaningful answer that would inform a hiring decision one way or the other. Also, it’s silly.
