@AvantiWestCoast why is it impossible just to contact a person at Avanti. I have a simple query about delay repay non of your options are appropriate or help. Your service might be good but your customer service contact ability is appalling!
@TPEassist Thank you. As I say it hasn’t effected me - I am used to this route and the difficulties you have had with engineering works and closed stations and now this - but I wanted to try and help others who if they relied on the times would now all be waiting an hour until the next bus
@TPEassist I know things are a tad chaotic with the current closure of the Standage Tunnel but info displays and replacement buses are not in sync. Yesterday my bus simply didn’t pick up at Stalybridge and this morning we left at 6:30 when the displays and announcements said 6:35
@TPEassist This is between Stalybridge and Huddersfield. I caught the bus as I was there early and questioned the driver. His time sheet said he had to leave Stalybridge at 6:25 - the display screens, online and announcements all said 6:35 (and this has been an issue at each stop)
So on asking the next driver - apparently Oldham bus station is closed at present. No information at the bus station saying that - just pure fluke I decided to walk to the next stop. Please tell people at the stop if it is closed!!!
@BeeNetwork thanks to the driver of the 409 from Rochdale to Oldham who at 22:30 didn’t bother to go to Oldham bus station but went straight on. Thanks for leaving us to wait an extra half hour. Things why people don’t use buses. Just a terrible service
@CrossCountryUK thank you to the great conductor on the 09:03 MAN to BHM. I had been given duff advice by another operators staff and was on an incorrect train. You conductor was very patient and understanding and clarified things for me. Great service!
@northernassist One at the ticket gates and on dispatcher. Platform 4 about 8:50am. No idea of their names - it was a quick enquiry so I didn’t take down loads of detail, just wanted to check if I could get on the train!
@northernassist I had an off peak ticket MAN to BHM. At MAN early & wondered if I could get an earlier train. Asked 2 Northern rail staff if I could catch the 09:03 - both said yes, fine after 9 out of MAN. Conductor on the train said NO. Must be after 09:30! Please educate staff
@northernassist Of course people should have a break. That’s more than acceptable. What is not is just saying it’s a short break with no indication of when it started or might finish or what ‘short’ means. I waited 15 mins before giving up as I had no idea how long it might be
@northernassist so not sure why I signed all the petitions to keep ticket offices open… when even when they are open they are shut! And how long is a short break and when did it start? Not helpful Northern!!
@TPExpressTrains my early train tomorrow (05:49) to Glasgow (there is a change) has been cancelled. The next train is too late. There is one earlier (04:57) will cost me a load to get a taxi and it would have been cheaper - but can I get it and how can I reserve a seat?
@AvantiWestCoast I tried the app and the website. It’s not the first time trains I know are running have not shown up and not been billable through you and I have had to go to TPE or Northern to book. I am at a point where I shall soon never bother with Avanti in terms of booking.
@AvantiWestCoast - so I booked a ticket from Manchester to Glasgow. Tried to use the Avanti app and it said there were no tickets available for my train. I then tried booking with TPE… and they sold me a ticket with reservations on the Avanti train. What’s that all about?
@AvantiWestCoast I bought a return (off peak). Departing Manc Piccadilly at 05:49 changing at Preston and arriving Glasgow Central at 09:16. Return leaving Glasgow at 15:57 and changing at Carlisle arriving back at Manchester at 19:16
