@dpkreil I have gotten the best results with Mixtral 8x7B. There is no fine tuning involved, but I did have to do a little bit of prompt engineering, i.e. telling to base the text on the references to cite the references and only those references.

If you have an outline for your introduction, have a few keywords for each subsection, and know which papers to cite there, it thus effectively already possible for an LLM to write the introduction of your thesis!

Surprisingly GPT-4, in Bing at least, is just as brilliant. And it likes to talk... For "If it takes 10 minutes to cook 100g of potatoes, how long does it take to cook 1kg of potatoes?" one gets a photo of potatoes and this "train of thoughts" now...

It is impressive to see how the Phi-2 LLM with 3B parameters is able to compete with ChatGPT 3.5 on common sense logic.
By "compete", I mean that both LLMs conclude that if it takes 20 min to cook 200g of potatoes, it must take 100 min to cook 1kg of potatoes. 🙄
