Today, CT Senate Dems passed new restrictions on law enforcement & protections for illegal immigrants who committed serious felonies.

I proposed an amendment to their bill, SB397, that would create exceptions to allow law enforcement to arrest or detain illegal immigrants convicted of murder, rape, manslaughter, and other felonies. They even rejected that.

Whatever people think about immigration policy generally, almost all of us agree that we should be getting violent criminals off our streets. Yet CT Dems are protecting them like no other state. Even Tim Walz rejected policies like Connecticut's.

It's time we had a leader in CT that put law abiding Connecticut citizens first. End sanctuary status for criminals and support our law enforcement.
