It's hard to find positive stories to cover. Every once in a while we get glimmers of hope & inspiration. I choose to focus on so many wonderful and touching highlights of the past!
That time Obama surprised Vice President Joe Biden with the Presidential Medal of Freedom ❤️
Men really love convincing single women that being single is some kind of punishment. Honey, the most miserable I’ve ever been? A man was involved every single time.
“I don’t want Jews in positions of elected office and I don’t want Jews having financial ties to the Democratic Party. I don’t like Judaism. If I could wave a magic wand, I would round up Jews and deport them from America. Most Democratic voters agree with me.”
I don’t want to sound like a broken record on this but can you imagine if a top adviser to, and ally of, President Joe Biden had said this? It would be the *only* story in America. For days and weeks on end. Biden and Dem members of Congress would be asked about nothing else by rightly outraged reporters.
So every American political reporter, editor, anchor, executive producer, reading this right now: ask yourself, why aren’t you as outraged when it’s Muslims not Jews, and Trump’s ally not Biden’s?
This guy has been in office since 1981.
45 years!
The national debt was just 1 trillion when he started. Now it's 40 trillion.
Resign dude. You're the problem.
Since 1965, there have been 6 fiscal years when federal spending fell relative to the preceding year:
🔵1965 - LBJ
🔵2010 - Obama
🔵2012 - Obama
🔵2013 - Obama
🔵2022 - Biden
🔵2023 - Biden
No Republican president in the last 60 years has cut spending vs. prior year.
I work the front desk at a small doctor’s office, and I wish people could see what happens on the other side of the phone. Every day, older patients call us confused.
They are told to use the patient portal, upload documents, check lab results online, fill out forms before the visit, and confirm everything through a link. Some of them do not know what a portal is.
Some do not have a smartphone.
Some have one, but they are afraid to click the wrong thing.
Last week, a man in his late 80s called about his test results.
He said, “Ma’am, I don’t mean to bother you, but the computer says I have a message and I don’t know how to open it.”
He sounded ashamed.
That broke my heart.
He should not have to feel ashamed for needing a human being.
Technology can be helpful. I understand that.
But when people who built this country are made to feel helpless because everything became a login and a password, we have gone too far.
Not everything needs to be an app.
Not every answer should be hidden behind a screen.
Sometimes people need a voice.
A patient person.
A real human who says, “Don’t worry, I can help you.”
Progress should not leave seniors behind.
Because one day, the world will move faster than us too.
And I hope someone is kind enough to slow down.
The hostility to Mamdani's Parents Night Out initiative is very odd, because no one (at least no one normal) has any problem with NYC running summer day camps. This was a one-day, four-hour camp running from late afternoon to early evening. It's a nice idea.
I can't get over how the government robbed everyone blind and then just gave the money to corporations. I don't think the outrage is nearly high enough.
NOW I UNDERSTAND WHY PEOPLE JUST STOP PAYING STUDENT LOANS…
Logged in this morning to check my balance. Borrowed $32k back in 2013.
Been paying $420 a month, every month, eleven years now. Do the math on that and it's over $55,000 that's left my account.
Balance today: $28,900.
Eleven years. Fifty five grand. And I've knocked about three thousand off what I actually borrowed.
I have now paid them more than I ever took out and I still owe basically the whole thing.
WHERE DID THAT $55,000 GO? Genuinely asking. I'll shut up and listen.
Okay, check this out.
It is statistically true that 10 of the last 11 U.S. recessions began under Republican presidents.
My question is, how in the hell do they keep getting elected?
The real welfare queen in America is the Walton family, who inherited Walmart, got $93.5 billion richer since Trump’s election, got a $2.9 billion tariff refund that should have gone to their customers & is the #1 employer of workers on food stamps & Medicaid that you subsidize.
Just a reminder: Don Jr was born in '77, Ivanka was born in '81, & Eric was born in '84 but Ivana didn't become a citizen til '88.
Also Barron was born in March of '06 but Melania didn't become a citizen til 07/2006.
Quit your *birthright citizenship* bitching, Maga.
Ya lost.
